Great location in Northern Kauai

Great location in Princeville right on ocean. Short walk down to small beach. Easy drive to Hanalei. All amenities in unit. No A/C but breezes throughout unit.One bedroom main floor one upstairs - nice separation for privacy from kids. Even a pizza and salad place on site!

Beautiful location and view but overall we were very disappointed. We spent about $715/night after all fees and felt very overcharged considering the shape the place was in. Master shower didn’t drain so we stood in two inches of water until maintenance came to pour draino to fix the clog. How does housekeeping not notice this while cleaning before our visit? Dishwasher wouldn’t open so we hand washed dishes for ten days. Washing machine very stinky. Overall very superficially cleaned. I bought Lysol wipes to wipe frequently touched areas down. Old carpet, beds were not comfortable. Many of the other condos are updated, this one could use a makeover and some TLC. Had wind storms and the doors and shutters shakes so loud I didn’t sleep a few nights. Worth about half of what we paid for it. We splurged on this for this special trip during Kauai’s slow season (January) and felt quite let down with what we thought would be much more luxurious.

Perfect getaway

The views on here are real! The unit was clean, and well located in the complex- ocean views and close to the pool. Out the front door, you are a 5 minute walk to sunsets, minutes drive to shopping, farmers market, and morning walks along the golf course. We'll definitely be back!

Wonderful place to stay for our first trip to Kauai

This condo was everything we had hoped for when we booked it. It was spacious, clean, and well stocked. The photos of the view looked photoshopped but it’s really looks like that! The entire property is gorgeous and the private trail down to hideaway beach should not be missed. The beach gear was an added bonus. The only super minor issue was a few lights burned out, but it wasn’t enough to even bother the owner with.

The location is lovely. But that is about it.

Trying to be kind here...We had "issues" with it. Reached out to management without any response. except saying they would forward our complaints to management. They have a bot/automated response to everything. Would NEVER stay here again. We left a day earlier than we planned just to get to the comfort of our home. VRBO should really vett their partners.

Aloha Simran, we do apologize on the “bugs”, but as we tried to tell you, they were termites. We are in the tropics and there are certain times of the year they appear in large numbers. Despite every effort, sometimes there is not much that can do other than keeping windows/doors shut at night and turning the lights off. We did reach out to you multiple times and left voicemails…to date we have not heard back. We believe a one-star review is not being “kind” at all.

This is a wonderful rental on the north shore, it came equipped with chairs, beach equipment , a well stocked kitchen. Check in was easy, the Parish group was responsive to any question or need. I was a little worried about the need air conditioning but it was a non issue due to the wonderful ocean breeze. I would not hesitate to rent here again.

My wife and I stayed here for a week the last week of February 2022. The good: The place was spacious and as advertised. The view was fantastic, we frequently saw whales while we were sitting on the balcony. The only knock on the view is knowing that the condos facing the other way have a jaw dropping view of the Nepali Cot! We knew that already though from the photos which accurately show what is absolutely a fantastic view! The location is also good - steep but paved path to a great little beach. Another beach access trail took us to the next beach over and allowed us to easily wade across a small stream at the beach to walk on to stunning Hanalei beach. It was very dry when we visited and I expect that little stream could be much tougher and inadvisable in higher water, but it was only a few inches above my knees . Kitchen is pretty well equipped, but the markings on the stove have largely been rubbed off. Wasn’t much in the way of wineglasses but minor quibbles there. There were a couple of good beach chairs and boogie boards which was great. Carpet almost throughout was an odd choice but kept it more quiet and it was very quiet. Beds and linens were fine but not exceptional. Lots of fans and lots of breeze so we were never overheated and it was usually 26-28 C while we were there (and I don’t like sleeping in the heat). Check in was a breeze and communication was easy, fast and responsive - but we didn’t have any real issues so didn’t reach out once we had checked in. The less good: We paid about $900 CDN (about $710US at the time) per night once you factored in cleaning and service fees. We booked last minute so knew we were overpaying but it was not luxurious. Kauai is expensive but this place seemed a lower value proposition than the other places we stayed in Kauai. The place was superficially clean but if you reached into the cushions of the dining room chairs you’d get an unpleasant surprise. The window blinds were very dusty. It certainly wasn’t gross, just not impressive. The toilet paper was like that you might see in a college dorm - which wasn’t the case at other condos we stayed in on Kauai. 4 or 5 lightbulbs were burned out - but there was still lots of light. The screen doors and patio doors were rough and wouldn’t stay in the tracks well. Some of that was due to corrosion (which is to be expected in a location overlooking the sea) but the doors probably just need to be replaced. The design of the place means the bedrooms are in the back off the parking lot. They were fine and it was quiet, but you don’t get that sound of the ocean or view in the morning. The kitchen and living area have great views though and lots of light and breeze. None of the above was major, but for one of the pricier places I’ve stayed it made for an underwhelming experience.

Waking up in paradise

We arrived after dark, so we didn't get a clear view of our surroundings until the next morning. When we woke up and walked out onto the balcony....just WOW! Instant relaxation in beautiful paradise. The view, the sounds and smells of the ocean, we couldn't have asked for more in a home-away-from-home. This place is the real deal. The condo is very clean and comfortable and has everything you need to feel at home, plus lots of nice extras (beach chairs, boogie boards, binoculars and guide books). The location was perfectly situated for exploring the north shore. The shopping center down the street was very convenient for meals and groceries (definitely try The Spot!). Hanalei is a quick 10-15 minute drive down the hill. Mahalo for a wonderful stay. We wish we were there now but will definitely be back again!

Beautiful views

Great views from this condo with access to beautiful and non-crowded beach via a mostly paved path. The condo is in princeville, which has a gated, golf course feel to it. The road to hanalei was intermittently open and the morning and evening times weren’t busy. The mid day line to cross over to hanalei was quite long.

Princeville

We read mixed reviews on this property about the cleanliness but upon our arrival the place was very clean the kitchen was well stocked and we had Good communication with the property managers. I’m not sure what these other people were talking about with the reviews as we really had no issues with the cleanliness. We really enjoyed our stay and thank you a lot Mahalo

The view and area was beautiful and it was just the right size for us!

Reservations made the whole process so easy and took good care of us!! Pat at the Princeville office and was so kind and accommodating. Our only complaint was having no air conditioning. It was very hot and made sleeping very difficult.

Great location, but dirty.

Maybe we are way too clean in our own properties, but we found this property, although in a very beautiful location, to be quite dirty. My wife spent the first 3 or 4 hours cleaning things before we unloaded our own stuff. The things we could not clean were the window coverings in the bedrooms, along with the fly wire screens and the actual metal window surrounds. They really need a good clean. My wife made a comment that as you are leaning in the sink to clean your teeth, it is really nice to have a fake floral design next to your head “covered in dust”. Look, overall, the place was great, but if you want real feedback, then I hope I have been honest enough so you know that cleaning of this unit could certainly be improved. Also, due to the fact it does not have AC, we will not be back. I know some people do not care about AC, but when you come from an Aussie Winter, to a Hawaiian Summer, it really is something we will not compromise on in the future. Regards, Phil Kelly

Great place to stay in Princeville

Excellent view from a very comfortable, well stocked condo.

This rental was in great condition and provided ample space and amenities for our party of four. It can sleep more as one bedroom has two double beds. The check-in and arrival process was super simple and the app was helpful in this step. Mobile check-out was also very easy. The furnishings were comfortable and the kitchen was incredibly well-stocked. This was a big plus for us as we were able to visit fishmongers and farmers markets to cook every breakfast and dinner while we were there. It made the rental easier and more enjoyable. We didn’t watch a lot of the TV but it was hooked up to Netflix and had decent cable channels so we caught a lot of the New Year’s Eve celebration. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable, large and well-stocked. There was also a closet with beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear and various other beach toys and games. The view is incredible and is as-advertised. I saw one review that indicated the view wasn’t the same as the pictures, but this clearly was the unit from the advertisement. Overall a great, easy stay in a comfortable, well-stocked condo.

Paradise found !

My husband and I just stayed in this condo for 10 days from 4/20 -4/30 , 2017 . This is the third time we have rented a Parrish condo and this was the BEST yet ! The location could not be any more perfect with the beautiful ocean , as this is right on the bluff. Awakened every morning with beautiful birdsong… thousands of tropical birds singing! Across the golf course you can hear & see the albatross dancing and singing. This place is paradise, nothing else compares. This condo has it all, you just need to purchase your food ( hit Costco on your way from the airport for staples, then do a local farmer’s market for local produce). It was amazingly quiet ! We never heard any of our neighbors or their TVS…these are such well insulated units. The condo is huge..easily will accommodate 2 couples or parents with kids, or just 2 adults who like a large place for the stay! The location is perfect, as Princeville and Hanalei have everything that you need. We took a great Sea Breeze catamaran tour to the Na’Pali Coast.. highly recommend that one ! The Na’Aina Kai Botanical gardens are spectacular… don’t miss. There is a paved trail to the beach ( find out where to swim, around the corner at Hideaways beach). The grounds are so well manicured… this is paradise! We have found our home away from home. Looking forward to the same place next year !! Mahalo to the staff.. keep it up!

Condo living

The condo was very cluttered. There were Christmas decorations on shelves (January 20th) and stuff on every table or shelve. No where to put your stuff. It rained and was very windy the 6 days we stayed here. The wind howled through the windows making it hard to sleep, some windows you could not close. The window coverings were white and a little see through so the lights from the walkways lit up the rooms and this made it hard to sleep too. Also the privacy factor was disturbing. People could walk in front of your windows to the living room so you had to be dressed all the time. There were curtains but not on all the windows. You could not open your blinds in the bedrooms as there were people walking by all the time. The newly remodeled bathrooms were awesome, especially the showers. The ocean view was great, but it was a partial view. The other view was into other condos. It was close to the pizza restaurant which was good. It was not super clean as there were hairs in the sink and the carpet had stuff on it. The Televison did not work most of the time, Satellite issues (and the DVD players did not work)?

Aloha John & Denise, Mahalo for posting a review. We did try to phone you in the unit and on your cell as well as email you to check in an there was no response. We certainly would have addressed any of these issues had we been made aware of them. We apologize the holiday decor was not removed, it was most likely left behind by a guest and it was an oversight by us. The unit does have blinds that can be shut for privacy, so we are confused as to the privacy issue. Again, we wish we would have known about any cleaning misses as we would have sent someone back as well as addressed the TV/DVD player issues. We did check and all the TVs and they are working correctly, so maybe it was just an input button error. We do ask that in the future, please do give us a call to address anything as we have missed. We do know things happen and we are here to make sure all is right at all times. Glad you enjoyed the pizza…we often hear it is great. Mahalo.

Beautiful views and great location!

Overall, it is one of the best condos I have rented in Princeville. The location is awesome, and the positioning of the building is really perfect to enjoy the lanai at any time of day. We saw whales breaching while having breakfast on the lanai every morning. The kitchen was well furnished with everything you needed to cook--except good knives. Both bedrooms were a comfortable size and the trade winds provided a wonderful breeze both day and night. My only suggestions would be removing the carpet and replacing it with a new carpet or tile and updating the living room furniture. The furniture is older and not very comfortable, although we spent little time in that room anyway. All in all, a great property! I would return in a heartbeat!!

Wonderful Time - Nice Condo

Spent 9 days and had a wonderful time. View was awesome. Condo overall was in very good shape. Electric grill was a big plus. More than likely will come back next year for another 10 days. Only thing that could of made this trip better was for the windows to be cleaned. My wife and I cleaned the windows along with the dining room light fixture as neither had been cleaned. Could not reach the outside dining room windows as that would of required a latter.
