One of the most popular Kauai beaches on the South Shore fronts the Kiahuna Plantation Resort and many other Kauai vacation rentals. Locals call it Kiahuna Beach and visitors know it as Sheraton. Whatever the name, no Kauai vacation is complete without a visit to this wonderful white sand beach.
Kiahuna Beach is also a beautiful place to settle in with your favorite beverage and watch the Kauai sunset. Mostly protected, swimming is safe year round and the summer months provide excellent waves for beginner surfers. Those with experience can venture out farther to catch some bigger waves.
Kauai snorkeling enthusiasts come here often when the surf is flat. The best place to enter is the eastern end near the Sheraton Kauai Resort. Other Kauai activities to enjoy include swimming, surfing, boogie boarding, skimboarding, paddling or just a day in the sun.

Kauai Beach Tips for Kiahuna Beach.
Perfect for: Snorkeling, swimming, Kauai sunsets, picnics and relaxing on the beach.
Parking Advisory: Several spots but the best is at the east end of the Sheraton. You will have good access to snorkeling from here. Showers and restrooms are nearby.
Caution: Although there is a lifeguard on duty at nearby Poipu Beach, this cove is not monitored so be careful. Larger surf in summer can break and strong currents can carry swimmers and surfers onto the sharp coral and slippery rocks.
Driving Directions from Koloa Town.
Head south on Poipu Road (HI-520) and merge into the “Welcome to Poipu Beach” round-about. Follow the sign “Poipu Beach” (third exit) and continue for approximately one mile. Turn right on Kapili Road (at Sheraton Kauai sign) and go to the end of the road and turn left on Hoonani Road. Take Hoonani to the end where there is parking along the road as well as a public parking lot on the left, back just a bit. The beach will be on your right. Public facilities are available.
