Hanalei Bay Resort #5201 & 5202

Sorry to start this off on a negative tone. Online listing needs to be updated. It states AC throughout in one spot and Full AC in another. This is not accurate. The master bedroom did not have any AC and instead had two fans in the closet. It was easily 10 degrees warmer in that room and we ended up moving our kids into that room and sleeping in the guest room. Please update your info as I specifically searched for units with AC and was very disappointed by the inaccuracy. Beyond that the decor, furniture and rugs need updating. Some of the fabric on the chairs was ripped and falling off and the rugs were old and stained. We have stayed in Kauai a couple of times at different places and the views here were incredible. Great to wake up in the morning and drink coffee on the balcony while the occasional rainbows showed up in the bay. If not for the negative comments above on the AC and furniture this would have been an excellent experience.

lovely property; lovely view off the balcony; the condo was very nice but can use some updating of bathrooms (walk in showers) and patio furniture. Overall really enjoyed our stay thank you.

Great experience. Had everything we needed.

This property is georgous. Accommodations stylish and comfortable. We ran into maintenance issues which the owner tried hard to correct but island time made it difficult. Half the unit had no AC for the entire week which made the whole unit "stuffy" as one unit tried to do the work of two. Also the washing machine didn't work (there is share washers and dryers not too far away).

Issues with Hanlei Bay Resort were not conveyed to us ahead of time. Their restaurant is still not finished, their upstairs main bar closed, their pool bar open just 3 days out of the 7 we were here.

All in all, the owner and unit are quite amazing and worth the trip. I am sure the owner will correct all maintenance issues. The resort really needs to get its act together before thinking of itself as a top flight destination.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the Hanalei Bay Resort. The condo was well equipped with kitchen utensils . The location of the condo was excellent! Close to the pool, tennis courts and path to the beach.

This location is a nice are in Princeville but the golf course and beach. This place is on a resort so checking in was done like hotel. The condo is much closer to things like the pools and front desk with bar then I thought so it was easy to walk and bring things to the pool. The pool is open until 10p so it was fun to swim at night. You can call to get a golf cart to bring you to your car or down to the beach which is nice. The beach is quite a haul especially if you have things to bring to the beach. And the walk is steep so cart would be best. The beach is in front of another hotel called Princeville Resort at the end of Haneli Bay. Nice long sandy beach and good for snorkeling right of the beach. The place has great beach gear like many chairs, pull cooler with another smaller one, umbrella and boogie boards. Bedrooms have good space and comfy beds. But the view off the balcony is the best part. You get to see the mountains with daily rainbows all day. Only thing I would suggest is bring ear plugs as their is tons of chicken and roosters on the property (they are all over the island) and they start crowing at about 530am. They are pretty but loud!!

We stayed here for a magical family vacation over Christmas week. After spending the previous ten days in hotels on other islands, we were happy to arrive at the condo and have a kitchen to utilize. We stocked up on groceries at the Costco in Lihue and the Foodland nearby and proceeded to cook each meal ourselves. The condo appliances are top of the line and newer. The resort also has a very nice community grilling area with three separate propane grills.

The condo is situated in an ideal location within the resort, it's just steps away from the main pool and very close to the beach path. The beach is about a 10 minute walk down the bluff, the resort offers golf cart service to/from it, but my family enjoyed the hike. We were a little disappointed with the beach, the water is quite rocky and the sand is pretty course. But there are plenty of great options an easy drive away (Anini Beach and Ha'ena Beach are two we really enjoyed).

A highlight of the trip for us was the hot tub. It's a great hot, I can't remember a resort or hotel hot tub that I have enjoyed more. My family really liked swimming after dark, under the stars. The pool has a very cool swim up bar which we enjoyed.

The property management staff is very welcoming and helpful. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful.

All in all, this is a great condo and I hope to bring my family back to stay here again in the future.

We loved our stay in Kauai ~ beautiful room, amazing view~ spectacular island~ lovely culture and community~ fabulous ocean~ Kauai is our favourite island and our stay at this condo was wonderful.

We love Hanalei Bay Resort. This unit is perfectly situated. Close to the pool, the tennis courts and the path to the beach. There is a closet full of boogie boards, coolers, beach chairs, etc. The unit is nicely decorated and the kitchen is well stocked. The view of Bali Hai from the living room and both bedrooms can’t be beat! The owner was easy to communicate with. It is too bad “they” (not sure who?) can’t figure out how to get the restaurant open. Ten years is a long time..... We had several wonderful dinners at the Dolphin (ate there twice) and Postcard Cafe. Love the close proximity to Makai golf course & Foodland grocery store.

Very nice condo with beautiful views of Hanalei Bay and the mountains behind. Kitchen was well stocked, washing machine and dryer worked well. Air conditioning was appreciated! Location is very nice, and the beach is shared with the Princeville Resort. There is a nice pool with bar so you can get drinks. We had a wonderful time!

Hanalei Bay Resort is located in the most beautiful lush setting. Our beautiful two bedroom condo was near the main pool, restaurant and parking. Morning coffee overlooking the mountain and water view was magical. We enjoyed hiking to Queen's Bath, snorkeling at Anina Beach, and dining out in Hanalei. The kitchen was fully stocked which we enjoyed as we like to cook. The only disappointment was a broken dishwasher (which we were told about in advance) and the presence of some roaches in the kitchen and bath.

It was nice that the property was near the pool. The kids enjoyed swimming.

We were a group of four adults celebrating a special milestone. HBR was a great choice for us - especially loved the proximity to Hanalei and the fabulous pool onsite. We couldn’t have asked for a better view from the unit. Great amenities; especially loved the in unit washer and dryer which came in handy after some long hikes.

I have always wanted to stay in Princeville and finally on my 10th visit to Kauai this was it. The location of the resort could not have been better and the location of this property was ideal within the resort itself. I was so happy that it had air conditioning after finding out that some rentals on the island do not. The kitchen was great as well as the furniture and TVs. The only constructive advice I could give was that I felt they really need to update the mattresses. Thank you again for sharing this beautiful space in paradise.

We recently stayed in this beautiful combo unit (one bedroom connected to a studio) at the Hanalei Bay Resort for five nights and loved it! Combined, we had two bedrooms (super comfy king in one, super comfy king plus pull-out twin sofa in the other), each with its own bathroom, plus a large kitchen/dining/living room area, and a long lanai that stretched along both units, with a gorgeous view of the mountains as well as a portion of Hanalei Bay to the right. The condo was spacious, super clean, very comfortable, and updated (with neutral furnishings and bold, Asian-inspired artwork). There are two quiet AC units if you need them, two separate entrances, and thoughtful amenities, like shampoo, conditioner, soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, plastic garbage bags, and paper towels to get you started. Stop at the grocery store in Hanalei to pick up food, water, etc. The large closet near the living room is stocked with beach chairs, coolers, yoga mats, and an umbrella. The kitchen has everything you need and is both beautiful and functional. The washer/dryer combo in the kitchen was also a dream to have. My teens loved the tiny efficiency kitchen in their studio unit. The bedding and towels are fresh and soft, and the pool towels you get from the front desk are thick and large. The owner, Chuck, was very sweet and extremely responsive to our questions. He even called after we left to say that we had forgotten our camera battery charger and offered to mail it back to us. The resort itself is beautiful - stunning views everywhere you look - and very well maintained. The pool is gorgeous (waterfalls galore) and the swim-up bar is fun, and now serves snacks as well as more filling things like pizza. The walk down to the beach is a bit far but doable and you can call the front desk for a ride back up on a golf cart (very steep). There are multiple tennis courts as well, and always available parking. The resort has a simple, open-air pub-style restaurant (Happy Talk) with some great music and friendly service, though we didn't love the food. Go for the drinks! The fancier restaurant, Bali Hai, was damaged a few months ago, and is in the process of being renovated. The St. Regis Princeville is next door. Go to the Makana Terrace for breathtaking, open-air views of the ocean and sunset for a special dinner. Also - you must go to Bar Acuda - excellent tapas restaurant. All in all, we highly recommend!

What a wonderful way to spend Christmas! This property was perfect for our family, and it had EVERYTHING!! The views outside of the condo were amazing, and the inside was equally impressive! We are already planning when we can return! I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

We spent a fabulous week in Kauai not only because of its luscious greenery, beaches, mountains, waterfalls, golf, restaurants and lifestyle, but because of the our accommodations at Hanalei Bay Resort.

Our rooms, 5201-02 were perfect for my wife and I and our son and his wife. It gave them their own private lock-off room and bathroom with a convenient doorway of their own to the resort. The rooms were clean and beautifully furnished and with TV's and internet in every room. The lanai's off each room gave us fabulous views of the southern part of Hanalei Bay and the gigantic, green rising mountains. After a short strong rain shower, we were able to see 27 waterfalls cascading down the mountains. Breakfast on the lanai every morning was a treat as we watched doves, cardinals, chickens and roosters play around the grounds. We appreciated the closet stocked with beach stuff (chairs, boogie boards, ice chests).The bathroom amenities were nice and met our needs.

Our rooms were centrally located in the resort and we were very close to the tennis courts, the magnificent pool, the smaller pool with cabana and gas barbeques, and the path to the beach was just outside our door.

The first night we stayed at the resort and enjoyed dining at the Happy Talk bar/restaurant, which also provided jazz. We enjoyed the pool with the poolside bar and the ukulele musicians in the afternoon. Although we didn't play tennis, I was amazed at the tennis facility and the use it got. Access to the beach is a short 8-10 minute walk. We also enjoyed fabulous sunsets from a vantage point west of the tennis courts.

The resort was very accommodating with an easy check-in and check-out, towel service, assistance with luggage, gated secure parking and daily trash pickup.

The only things that dampened our stay was a coffee maker that stopped working; wooden bistro chairs on the lanai needed repair; the provided kitchen knives needed sharpening; there were no condiments i.e. salt and pepper; and there were only two unmatched wine glasses (we provided one more).

We are used to first class accommodations and this fulfilled our needs.

Very nice place with great view, convenient location

We just stayed here with my family (husband, daughter, and my parents) for a week, and it was absolutely wonderful. The place looks just like the pictures, with picturesque views of the Napali coast, and has an ideal location that provides easy access to a beach shared with the St. Regis. This place was perfect for us (my mom is still talking about how much she loved the place)!

Additionally, booking with Chuck was a super easy and clear experience, and he was super responsive to my questions both pre and post booking. We look forward to coming back here soon!

A great base to travel the awesome north shore or to stay in and relax. I love the quiet hours too.

The rooms are comfortable although I recommend you bring your own pillows if you prefer them softer. Kitchen is great and updated; it has everything you need. The washer and dryer allow you to minimize packing and are very convenient.

Chuck was responsive to emails and answered our questions quickly. Staff here is friendly and has the Kauai attitude. This island is paradise. See and experience as much as you can- the beaches are insanely beautiful and it was great to come back to a place that feels like home with a great pool and sunset. Mahalo.

From booking to check in/out was so easy and the condo was everything we were hoping for. First class accomodations, with attention to each detail. Best location in the resort with a view to die for.

My family and I loved our stay at Hanalei Bay Resort. We rented both rooms and it provided more than enough space for us to relax and have our own space. The view from the lanai is breathtaking and it was so wonderful to have some quiet moments out there everyday. The resort is located just a few minutes drive from Foodland and other stores. We hope to come back and stay here again in the future!

Hanalei Bay Resort is a top notch place to vacation. The condo where we stayed was above expectations. updated modern LG appliances, and furniture throughout the condo. Everything you needed for the beach too to include ice chest. Staff at the facility were exceptional. Tours booked through the facility were outstanding and lived up to the brochures and the recommendations of the staff.

Hanalei Bay was beautifully landscaped! The views of the mountains and the bay were amazing! We saw multiple waterfalls in the mornings. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in 5201 and it was perfect for the two of us. We wish we would have splurged and rented the adjoining condo 5202. Chuck was very helpful in giving us detailed information on things to do while in Kauai! The only negative is you could hear people in other rooms through the vent in the restroom and we could have used more wash cloths and hand towels. We only had two for our 8 day stay.

We loved snorkeling at tunnels beach and kayaking to Wailua Falls.

Happy Talk Lounge had beautiful views but we were not impressed with the food.

We would highly recommend staying at Hanalei Bay Resort!

We loved this Condo, it was perfect for 2 couples, lots of room and everyone had their own space which you need to spend 10 days together. Great views on 3 different porches. Lots of equipment in the kitchen, chairs and coolers for the beach. It was not far from the parking lot and pool and the bar restaurant was great. We had an issue with someone below us smoking and it was taken care of promptly. We will for sure go here again if it is available.

The condo was everything we expected and even more! Pristine condition, everything we could possibly need during our stay (even boogie boards, beach chairs and sand toys). The lanai was awesome; a perfect place to start each day. And, the location within the resort just couldn't be beat....steps away from the tennis courts, main pool (check out the free mai tai party on Mondays) and Happy Talk restaurant and an easy walk down to the beach. Kids loved playing in the sand/water as well as climbing the trees. Our 11 year-old son commented he wants to stay here again next time we're in Hawaii. Highly recommended!

Best views on the whole island! Great place to stay!

Longer review: Breathtaking views! We went all around the whole island, literally, & found that the best mountain beach views were at Hanalei Bay Resort. I cannot say enough about how gorgeous the views are, its indescribable! The grounds were beautiful with lots of wonderful nature to take in (birds, flowers). The beach was not crowded, the waters were crystal clear with good snorkeling opportunities just a couple of feet from the sand with colorful fish all around and kayaks & beach chairs/umbrellas are available for a fee. The walk down to the beach from the resort is lovely, but could be viewed as tough for those with recent injuries or ailments, but there is a golf cart service that will pick you up at your room & take you down to the beach. However, I enjoy late night walks on the beach, & i felt it was too dark to walk down the beach path at night. Lots of tennis courts, spacious pool, & relaxing hot tub. There was a swim up pool bar, but it was not open. The other bar restaurant on the grounds is Happy Talk & it was absolutely delicious each time! It has a great happy hour with a band & good drink variety & prices. Their fresh fish sandwich was very yummy. There are other great restaurants, bars, & shopping just a short drive up to hanalei bay and a grocery store & golf courses just a couple miles from the resort. Most of the touristy type things & excursions were further down, about an hour away.

As for the room, it was exactly as described & shown in the pictures. It was very clean with all the necessities you would need: coffee pot, dishes, mini fridge, tv, dvd player, cooler (which we used daily for the beach), love seat, 2 chairs on the porch (where the view was great), fan, air conditioner (which we never even had to turn on, just left the lanai door open with a nice cool ocean breeze coming in), bed & linens were comfy (slightly creaky though). All the rooms did seem to have thin walls though. The room & grounds were smoke free, except for a designated smoking area. there is no housekeeping services during your stay, but i didnt find one necessary. There were plenty of towels for 2 ppl to last the whole week & w/d on site. (separate beach towels were provided by the resort). There is an additional resort fee, $18/day that included your parking. The transaction with chuck was easy & we got our security deposit back quick. We actually got to meet him while we were there, nice guy!

Hanalei Bay Resort is a nice place to land with beautiful views of Hanalei Bay. The staff was welcoming (especially Jack!) and we enjoyed exploring the path to the beach and both pools. The condo unit had everything we needed and makes good use of space. It has a comfortable bed and a nice lanai with a partial view. Wake up to tropical birds!

We enjoyed our stay at Hanalei Resort. The home was in great condition and conveniently located near the tennis courts, pool and restaurant/bar.

Fabulous! Great location and a very upscale unit. The ONLY thing lacking at Hanalei Bay Resort is a bar and restaurant (which they are working on, along with a poolside bar). Once those are complete I am sure it will rank as a 5 star.

This is a newly renovated studio with view on a lovely property. You cannot beat the location of Hanalei Bay Resort with its sunset views from the large lawn showcasing a new firepit with seating, mountain views, and beach access. Waterfalls would appear on the mountains in the morning after a night of rainfall. Just breathtaking. We enjoyed our stay in this unit with a large bed, fresh paint, and brand new bathroom. The owner cleary put a lot of attention to every detail in this unit. The lanai view was spectacular and it is conventiently located to the pool and tennis courts. This is one of the best pools on Kauai, especially for families with children. We LOVED our stay here and highly recommend this unit and thoughtful owner. The golf carts can take you down and back from the beach shared with the St. Regis Hotel if needed. We preferred the walk for exercise. This is a resort for families with small children, beach lovers, and tennis players. Our daughter loved watching all of the birds and swimming in the pool and at the beach. We can't wait to return next summer.

Location, location, location. This condo was more than we expected and was true to the pictures and description on the rental information inquiry. The property is in Princeville overlooking Hanalei Bay. The grounds were well kept, spacious, and gorgeous. We loved the pool, it was a big pool with 2-3 small waterfalls, a lot of fun with a gorgeous backdrop of the mountains. There was a path to the beach but we chose to go to the other prettier beaches in the area. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed for rennovations--it would have been nice to have that option. However, the condo made up for anything that may have been a minor inconvenience. We were a family of 5 so we rented the studio and one bedroom condo. The view off the large balcony of the one bedroom condo was spectacular, a view of Hanalei Bay with the mountains in the background. It was especially beautiful after the rain with the numerous waterfalls amidst the mountainous backdrop. The studio was spacious, nicely decorated, and air conditioned and, the nice size balcony did have a sneak, yet nice view of the bay. The one bedroom unit was large and spacious as well, remodeled nicely, with granite countertops in a well stocked nice size kitchen. It was great to have a stacked washer/dryer and, the ceiling fan and the wall A.C. unit in the main living area was much needed since the humidity was higher than usual for that time of year. Although there was no a.c. in the bedroom, the powerful ceiling fan was a plus. The unit also had other bonuses--beach items that were appreciated. We used the beach chairs, sand toys, and boogie boards. There were tennis courts on the grounds and we wanted to use them but we had no time. The condo was centrally located which was a benefit since it was a bit of an incline walking to the parking lot. Thankfully you could call the front desk for a golf cart pickup to your car. Not only was there a large balcony off the condo but a large balcony in front as well which was a great space used to play with my granddaughter. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and miss the view. Thank you to the owner/manager, he was great to deal with and available to answer any questions. I definitely would highly recommend this studio/condo unit and would be thrilled to rent again when we visit Princeville again. Mahalo.

We had a wonderful stay at your home and would certainly return some day. It is a perfect location, great view, everyone is so friendly. We were sorry that the restaurant and pool bar were not completed but everything else was wonderful.

We were very impressed with our Condo and the Resort overall, perfect position with gorgeous views, gardens and the Tennis courts were amazing! My 9yr daughter loved the swimming pool and spa. I can not thank Chuck enough for all the pre-arrival information he sent, it made our visit so much easier!

This is the 4th time we’ve stayed in this unit, owned by the Chuck and Steph Ashton. We were very excited to see the complete renovations they’ve done. Everything is brand new from the new tile floors, the bathroom fixtures and a new improved bar area that includes a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. They’ve even added blackout curtains if you need a nap from all the mornings activities. You can see the personal touch they added to the make certain their guests have a wonderful experience. What has not changed is the view. Spectacular! The pool and grounds were in beautiful shape and the Makai golf course is not to be missed with its sea-grass greens that are so tight you think they are artificial and you need to try their golf boards and surf the golf course for a really unique way to experience a round of golf.

If you want a treat, ask at the front desk for the locations of the pictures Chuck Ashton has taken and the Resort has posted. Also, ask Chuck for his website for things to do and see while on the island.

The unit, the resort and the golf course, are all 5 stars with no reservations.

We stayed here for four nights - it worked out great for our first trip to Kauai - four nights north, four nights south.

As for the condo itself, I agree with everyone else's assessment - the remodel looks fantastic, everything worked flawlessly, and I really don't think we've had a better stay in a VRBO property. Chuck does a great job with the booking process, and providing information on the unit and the property - very responsive.

The staff and grounds at HBR were amazing as well - I think they'll be even better once the bar and restaurant are done - it looks like they are making serious progress. The landscaping, pool, tennis courts, everything quite frankly, were in tip top shape.

The only thing I would caution people on is taking the word of Google Maps Navigation late at night - it seems it wanted us to go in the back way, which isn't the way to go. Just head north on 56, turn in to the Princeville resort with the big fountain and the guard shack, and you're pretty much there.

Chuck provides a TON of info on the island on his website, which was also very helpful. I'd highly suggest checking out the farmer's market in Hanalei town on Saturday morning, and get there before they open - it's a scene.

This is a beautifully remodeled unit. The original photos looked great and when I got there it was exceptional. Clean, up to date and the appliances were top end. The staff at the resort were friendly and accommodating and the grounds were clean. Would highly recommend this for any couple or family. The walk to the beach was invigorating and pleasant. The staff at the St. Regis resort on the beach were welcoming, no problem relaxing in the beach chairs. This was a great location on the island for activities and relaxation.

Our 5 days at HBR in Chuck's condo were wonderful. The condo has been remodeled beautifully, with classic lines. Love the solid doors with magnetic wall stops; the hardware is substantial, such as great water pressure shower heads; appliances are all top rate. If the property itself ever recovers the restaurant and the bar, it too will rate 5 stars.

This was a perfect choice for us! It was such a splendid relief to arrive in Kauai and to HBR to discover it was just GREAT!!! We booked the studio side next to 5202. It was well appointed, clean and comfortable. It has a great king size bed and nice bedding. There is a minifridge and microwave for light breakfasts and snacks. It really worked perfectly.

The grounds and pool area are flawless. So pretty!! And the beach is only a short walk down a paved path. The beach is shared with the St Regis. Its all quite nice. Can't say enough good things about it. Enjoy!

My husband and I were very excited to stay at the hanalai bay resort after seeing the pictures and reading some reviews online. I think we'd actually stay at the resort again just not this particular condo. The mattresses were super old and uncomfortable and the sheets didn't look like they had been cleaned. Maybe they had? But they were so wrinkled it was hard to tell. The bathroom was also super outdated. The description said it was recently remodeled but we saw nothing that suggested that. The lights and tv were not plugged in so my husband had to rearrange the furniture to turn anything on. Also we were not told that the resort was under complete renovation of the lobby, bar and restaurant so there was no where to get a drink or food. Had to go to the grocery store to get even a bottle of water. Kind of a bummer. Don't go by the pictures because they are not the pictures of the actual condo you will be staying in. Pretty disappointed overall with the condo but loved the location.

We're so happy we decided to stay here. Having the kitchen was excellent - even though we didn't cook during the week, having the refridgerator, dishes and microwave proved to be very useful for eating breakfast and leftovers. The view from the balcony every morning was incredible. The beach was a short walk down a path and the beautiful pool was only steps away, a place we frequented! The room itself was clean and lovely, plenty of room for the two of us and we felt right at home. And the owner was super helpful and kind in helping us book the reservation. Perfect honeymoon!

This was a great location and a great condo. It has a spectacular view and is located in a great place on the property. It is right behind the main pool and hot tub which is one of the best pools Ive seen. The path do the beach was also close. The owners were great to work with. I have no complaints, everything was what I expected and more.

Our family group of 6 stayed in this spacious two-bedroom condo and enjoyed it very much. Beautiful view of the grounds, lovely round blue pool, and Hanalei Bay from the decks off every room. Full kitchen; washer/dryer. Larger bedroom has private entrance. Close to excellent pool with secluded hot tub. Condo clean and well maintained. Walk or ride golf cart down to protected beach. Resort concierge helpful. Recommended!

Not exactly our “honeymoon” but a true celebration. Our 36th wedding anniversary. This was our first trip to Kauai, but God willing, not our last. The condo was fantastic! The view was the best I saw on the island. It was paradise. Thanks for the great time. Hanalei Bay Resort is totally fantastic. Waterfall pool! Viewing waterfalls and rainbows in the morning right from your bed. The colors explode around you. This was a great trip and I appreciated all the tips Chuck gave us to help maximize our time.

We just got home from our vacation in Kauai and already miss it. We enjoyed most our stay on the north side of the island at the Hanalei Bay Resort in unit 5201-5202. The view is magical and really makes you feel like you are in a story book. The proximity of the unit to both the big pool and tennis courts was great. We also walked down the path to the beach. Great snorkeling. It was a very comfortable and convenient place. The booking process was also very smooth. Had a great time, thanks Chuck Ellen

We stayed in this BEAUTIFUL unit from May 12th to the 17th. The booking process was very easy & Chuck is a pleasure to do business with. He is extremely helpful & is very knowledgeable about things to see & do on Kauai. The resort is OUTSTANDING, everyone was very helpful & always had a smile. We had 6 adults & the unit was very comfortable for all of us. It was clean and very nicely decorated. The view from the lanai is breathtaking. This condo is everything it is advertised as plus more.

Loved this unit, lots of room for us and our teenaged sons. It was so convenient to the pool and tennis courts but still very quiet and private. I loved that the boys had their own bedroom, bathroom refrigerator and entrance. We loved the incredible views from the huge balcony. The pool was beautiful and never crowded. I also loved the secret beach. Great snokeling right off the beach. Would return in a heartbeat.

My six year old daughter and I, plus another couple had the pleasure of visiting this nice Island. Chuck made it an ease free vacation. I could not believe how nice he was. Very knowledgeable and just a great guy. We arrived to the beautiful resort at night and didn't get a real look at the property until the next day. 5202 was so conveniant to the pool and the tennis courts it was great. The pool is beautiful, nice walk to the beach, and an easy stroll to the front desk and Happy Talk. One of my daughter's favorite things was sitting on the lanei in the morning and having all the beautiful birds come eat right out of her hand. The view from there was absolutely beautiful and the rainbows were a site to see. I would highly recommend Chuck's place and would rent from him again.

My family stayed at HBR this past August, in units 5201 & 5202 and we absolutely loved it. First of all, the property is just beautiful. It is like a manicured jungle, with a lagoon like pool with waterfalls and views of the bay from the open air lobby and restaurant. The unit is large, very clean and tastfully decorated. The kitchen is modern and easy to work in. The bedrooms are large and each has a clean and beautiful bathroom and there is a lanai off of each bedroom and the living room with absolutely spectacular views. There are also plenty of pool and beach toys available and three TV\'s in the unit. Everything was really perfect. There is no reason to stay anyplace else. We certainly would not. Enjoy!!

We had a great time at HBR, unit 5201/5202. Chuck was very easy to work with and was a very gracious host. We've stayed at HBR before and think that it is one of the better places to stay in the north part of Kauai. The unit has a fabulous view and is close to the pool. We used the grill down by the smaller pool and had a great dinner (stop by Costco, near the airport, when you get off the plane). Thanks for everything Chuck!

As a long time returning visitor to Kauai, I was

thrilled with everything about this particular

accommodation at Hanalei Bay Resort (5302/02).

Everything inside the unit was comfortable, nicely

decorated and well kept. I consider myself a

connoisseur of great vistas and the one from this

lanai is truly an ALLSTAR VIEW! Before I left, I

explored the entire grounds admiring the truly

exquisite layout of everything from the magnificent

serpentine pool with it's many waterfalls to the

lovely landscaped walk down to the beach. I was

traveling with an artist and we both agreed, our

morning coffee on this lanai was almost like a fairy

tale, too beautiful for words!

We had a great stay in January 2009. We've stayed at Hanalei Bay three times previously but we enjoyed this unit the most. Loved the view, and the convenient location (just steps away from the main pool, and overlooking the other pool).

We had a wonderful stay in HBR 5202 in January of 2009. The condo had all the amenities of home and was exactly as shown online. Wonderful location, great resort, and an unbelievable view from the condo. Fantastic lanai to enjoy the view. Great to have AC as we found many resorts don't have it. Staff at the resort was very friendly and accomodating. A great place to vacation.

We really enjoyed our stay at HBR 5201/2. The unit has an ideal location, and relaxing view of the mountains and of Hanalei Bay. In the closet there were boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs and coolers. Which was a bonus! We are hoping to return next summer.

We stayed unit 5201/5202. This is the most beautiful place. Updated and remodeled with lovely furnishings. The view was outstanding. This particular unit was the best one we've seen at the complex. We visited several others, just to "look" but 5201/5202 was far superior.

We had a wonderful time! HBR 5201/02 was clean, comfortable, cozy, and just what we were looking for to enjoy a magical time in Kauai. We will definitely return!
