INCREDIBLE STAY

First the positive. This is one of the very few second floor ocean front properties and the view from the balcony is spectacular. You're practically in the ocean and the sound of the waves is wonderful. The condo is nicely furnished.However, we were underwhelmed by the level of service and attention to detail for a property of this price. The place is overrun with gnats -- they're all over the screens, kitchen, bathroom, stairwell leading to front door, etc -- first time we've experienced this in 25 yrs staying at the Kiahuna. Property managers said in a text that pest control wouldn't deal with gnats. So we dealt with them by mopping them up by the hundreds with towels, and closing all windows and turning out all lights after dark. They left a bag of replacement towels at our request, but took 3 days and 2 reminder texts to pick up the old towels which I'd placed in a bag outside the door. There is also no place to store your clothes, perhaps a small issue given the beautiful view. The small bedroom closet is packed with cleaning supplies - mops, brooms, vaccuum cleaner, step stool and many other things. Would be a nice gesture for these to be stored in the outdoor locked cleaning closet to allow the guests a place to hang clothes without getting them entangled in the vacuum cleaner and mop.

We’re sorry to hear about the issues you encountered during your stay, particularly with the gnats. These are commonly present across the resort area during certain times of year and are not isolated to a specific unit. Our pest control vendor advised that gnats tend to swarm in early spring for mating and can increase during warm, humid conditions, especially following periods of heavy rain which did occur due to an unusual wet March. While these are environmental factors beyond our control, we do empathize with the impact on your stay.We also apologize for the delayed towel pickup and hope this had minimal impact, as the items were located outside the home. Beautiful view and very nice Parrish staff to communicate with. However, needs some updating. The toilet didn’t flush, the tv didn’t work, the screen door almost broke multiple times, and the shower pressure is not great.
Aloha Chetan. We are happy that you enjoyed the view and that our team was able to help out during your stay. We had our team and the maintenance team from Castle Resorts have a look at the plumbing and it was determined that that toilet was not flushing because of the wipes that were being put into the system. Because the property itself is older, the plumbing cannot accommodate the use of flushable wipes. We ask that in future, only toilet paper be flushed. We do wish you would have let us know about the TV when we were there to assess the plumbing issues. We would have had it replaced sooner. That said, we got the TV replaced for you the day after you reported that it was broken. Again, If you had mentioned the water pressure, we would have addressed it while our team was troubleshooting other plumbing issues. We always aim for you to have the most relaxing stay possible. This is why we need to know if something is not right so that we can get it addressed for you ASAP.
