Gorgeous home in a tropical paradise

A very short walk to Shipwreck Beach, this Poipu-located house provides everything needed for a luxurious vacation in paradise. Beautifully decorated and immaculately clean, this house also features a secluded front lanai filled with orchids and other tropical plants, a back deck with a gas grill, table and chairs for outdoor dining, and a pool, hot tub, and several chaise lounges in a high-walled back yard. The host even provides beach towels! I have stayed here several times and plan to do so again.

Lovely vacation house

Lovely Vacation house. Hale Maluhia is a wonderful vacation rental. With family and friends we have stayed here several times and enjoyed every day of our visit. The house is beautiful, private, fully furnished with a pool, lovely gardens and located with easy access to local beaches, shopping and restaurants. It sits above the walking paths at Poi Kai so you have views to Shipwreck Beach. The neighborhood is quiet and private. You will enjoy your stay here, guaranteed.

Best house in Poipu Kai!

This house is so well situated! Just steps from the beach, beautiful views out of every window, and glorious pool area. My favorite spot was under one of the plumeria trees in a lounge chair at the edge of the pool while my kids swam! This house is so much more spacious than it looked online. We had two families with multiple kids staying here and I thought it would feel cramped. However it was spacious and peaceful. And the outdoor shower was super cool! I\'m pretty sure we never got hot water in the kitchen sink. But in the bathrooms we did, it just took awhile. Dishwasher was a Bosh which is my favorite though. Also the air conditioning in the master never really felt like it was working all the way… We would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

A magical house!

What an amazing house and location! The house served as a home base for three generations of our family. From BBQs on the deck looking out to a double rainbow over the ocean to kid swim sessions in the very private pool while the parents hot tubbed, Hale Maluhia delivered. The house is so well laid out to give space when needed, but with an open kitchen and living room when you are together. Our favorite things to do from the house was walking to the beach to watch the turtles, short drive to a secluded beach and jumping off Shipwreck rock. My only issue was that my realization that any future showers are ruined forever. After daily outdoor showers in the master bedroom\'s 9-headed outdoor private shower, my shower at home was a pathetic homecoming. This is a must do house for Poipu.

House is perfect for a large group. We had three grandchildren staying with us: twin boys, 7, and a girl, 5. Our granddaughter loved the punee in her parents bedroom, which provided her with her own space away from her brothers. My husband and I took the large master and appreciated the privacy it afforded when we wanted to get away from the frenetic activity of the kids. The pool was delightful and in use every day. Parrish is always one of the first places I check for accommodation when returning to Kauai.

Perfect for our stay

We loved the location. The house itself is beautiful and the kitchen is a chef’s dream! We really enjoyed the concierge grocery service. Coming in on a late flight it was nice to get to the house and have some staples already there so we could have a glass of wine and snack and be able to prepare breakfast in the morning. We were pleased to be able to utilize the late check out because we had an evening departing flight. The staff was very accommodating with our date changes and multiple questions. We would definitely rent this house again when traveling to Kauai.

We had a great stay at Hale Maluhai. The pictures on the website doesn’t do it justice. It’s a beautiful house in a great location with plenty of outdoor space. The front of the house has a serene lounging area with a waterfall and the back of the house has a huge Lanai with the view of the green belt. The beach is a 3 minute walk and we made it a point to walk there every morning to see the sunrise. The house was spacious enough to accommodate 8 of us comfortably. House was clean, beds were comfortable and had everything we needed. Kitchen has plenty of pots, pans and dishes but no seasonings or spices but really not an issue. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Kauai.

Great Location

The location of this home can’t be beat. The beach is close enough to walk and you get a small ocean view. The home itself is beautiful. Our only complaints was that the pool is not heated and was virtually unusable while we were there because the weather was not great or warm enough to justify swimming in a cold pool. Also, there is very little hot water in the house itself, making showers and washing in the sinks very unpleasant. Could also use a little maintenance/upgrades on small things like pans etc. Overall good.

We understand that it can be disappointing not to use the pool when the weather is colder and rainy, mostly in the winter months. Unfortunately, most private pools are not heated, but we will pass on the suggestion about heating the pool to the owner for future upgrades. For next time, let us know and we can point you in the direction of the few heated pools. We apologize, had we known that you were experiencing problems with the hot water in the home, we would have come over to investigate and resolve the issue. It was kept up immaculately and everything was in working order.

Everything was easy and professional. The house was amazing, but the T.V. and radio in the living room was so frustrating. Such a techy house and very poor instructions, slow, slow internet and couldn’t watch any tv there. Not a big issue, but would have loved to use the music in a house with speakers in every room. Thank you for amazing memories. I am always so happy with your company. I’ll start saving for my next trip.

LOVE this property! Perfect location, beautiful house and gardens. Very spacious, comfortable, quiet and peaceful. Easy 5 minute walk to the beach. Looking at my schedule now to try and get back there ASAP!

Kauai 2018

What a great find.Stayed for a week in Hale Maluhia.We were a group of 7 and the home was comfortable for all.The house is situated on a lovely piece of property with beautiful breezes that blow all day long and night.All bedrooms are have a/c.The main living area has plenty of windows and 3 sliding glass doors that when opened allows all those breezes too flow throughout the house.There are 3 outdoor sitting areas.A garden area in front with privacy surrounded with beautiful foliage.Then you have a deck area off living room with seating for 8 to enjoy eating.Down 4 steps to the beautiful pool area where we spent time with some cocktails and good music.Washer and dryer a plus.Everything is in close proximity to house including Poipu Beach which is beautiful.We were entertained by 2 Monk seals and sea turtles.Zip lining and ATV ing very close.If staying in Poipu Beach area this home is beautiful.Thank you Parrish Collection and the owners of The house of peace.

Location, location,location

Awesome house, pool is amazing, neighborhood is filled with well kept homes. Trade winds blow though the living room which is really nice after a day in the sun. House is well furnished, comfortable and has all the things you need. Parrish was responsive to a minor request for help with the televisions. All in all an amazing place

Paradise

Ah…. location, location, location-this location is a hard one to top. Beautiful-early morning 2 mile walk along Shipwreck Beach. Your own private perfect pool for fun and relation. An amazing house made to feel like home away from home. All the information needed for fine dining and local activities -- Paradise in paradise…..

Lovely house near beaches

Hale Malukia is a beautiful house which overlooks a greensward with paths to beaches and a distant view of the ocean. The house is very sunny and pleasant. The kitchen is well-stocked with pans, dishes and appliances. The bedrooms are comfy but note that the beds in the 3rd bedroom are short with boards across the bottom, which was a bit difficult for my 6’5″ son. The trundle bed in the second bedroom is also short. The enclosed pool was very nice (icy cold at New Years!) and the most private spot in the house since it was not visible from the nearby trail. We had some minor problems, like sometimes there was no hot water for showers and we couldn’t heat the spa, and the garden fountain didn’t work, but overall the house is so beautiful we didn’t care. It would have been nice if the master bathroom sinks drained. There are boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach chairs and coolers in the garage. The 10 a.m. Checkout came very early, and we were denied an extension due to the next guests arriving.
Mahalo Susan for your review. We agree, this is a beautiful home. We checked the hot water heater and spa do not see any issues, nor have the last few guests reported any problems. However, we will keep an eye on things. The fountain does have a leak and we are waiting parts for a repair, but that should be soon. We are sorry we could not offer a late out. In the future, we encourage you to coordinate that when you make your reservation as it can be confirmed then. Mahalo again and we look forward to hosting you again soon. A hui hou!

Absolute Paradise!!

The pictures are accurate, but there is so much more. The crosswind breezes are perfect throughout the house. All three bathrooms were beautiful, especially in the front master bedroom; to shower under the stars was awesome. The kitchen offered everything we needed. Sleeping to the sounds of the ocean was just wonderful. The entire house was so tranquil. The owner was very accommodating with all our requests and questions. The house was well maintained. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Surpassed Expectations!

While the listing description of Hale Maluhia (House of Peace) is accurate, the experience of living there for 10 days far surpassed our expectations for this lovely home. My husband and I really appreciated the house layout, especially the lush gardens, the openness and sense of privacy afforded by the design. The house is nicely situated so that during the day you have your choice of sun or shade on the lanais. The owner’s comfortable aesthetic is another added plus. Nicely appointed, nothing in the house feels too precious. How delightful to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean and wake up to a variety of bird calls along with winds gently rustling through palm trees. Most days we spent at the beach, hiking or golfing (we brought our own clubs), but we always looked forward to coming back to this house in early evening. Hale Maluhia is designed for living, meaning it’s a terrific entertaining space that is also great for relaxing, reading. (In all fairness, I should add that we brought our computers so we were able to work while enjoying this gorgeous location.) Proximity to the Grand Hyatt and Shipwreck Beach is a big plus, especially if you have kids. You can pack a day bag, go for a wonderful hike, swim or boogie board at Shipwreck, then be home in few minutes. We found the owner’s suggestions about what to visit extremely helpful as we’ve never been to Kauai. Though we tend to select new trip destinations--it’s a big world,after all--we found Hale Maluhia so welcoming we definitely want to come back.

Fabulous Kauai Vacation Home

Absolutely fabulous Kauai home. Luxury with the ambience of gracious Hawaiian living. The best location in Poipu Kai resort; the property is surrounded on three sides by tropical gardens and spacious lawns. The location is ideal, only a few steps from Shipwreck Beach and the Grand Hyatt and less than ten minute garden walk to Poipu Beach. The house is superbly furnished and decorated reflecting the owners’ great taste and their love for their home. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped for a quick bite or gourmet meals. The lanai and internal gardens are exquisite, including a lovely stream course. Secluded pool and spa in a tropical garden. The private outdoor shower adds to the once-in-a-lifetime island experience. There is easy access to all of the adventures Kauai has to offer including the hikes along the beaches and cliffs along the southeast coast. This home is a superb refuge from one’s cares, truly a house of peace – Hale Maluhia. We’ve been coming to Hawaii for 40 years and this has been the most wonderful vacation – the best ever.
