We originally saw this property on our honeymoon in 2012 and determined to stay at it once our kids were old enough. Having a 6 and 4 yr old, this close to the beach and an amazing house to boot, by far the best location you could ever ask for!

Fantastic location right across the street from the ocean. Loved sitting on the patio and watching turtles. short walk to one beach great for boogie boarding and another for snorkeling. House was comfortable and kitchen well stocked. We were worried about the downstairs bedroom not having air conditioning, but with the upper windows open, the ceiling fan on, and bringing in the fan from upstairs, our adult kids were comfortable. We left the master bedroom door (upstairs) open at night and ended up not even using the air conditioning in that room. We were very sad to leave. Not a ton of restaurants within walking distance, but was fine for us. Only suggestion would be for rental company to give more info prior to arrival... our flight on a Sunday was delayed and we didn\'t know if we would have the access code for the house on arrival (fortunately, they sent it to us before arrival). There was a welcome packet telling us where to park inside the house, but it would have been great to have that info before arrival. They were very communitive and helpful otherwise and those are very minor suggestions. We would LOVE to stay there again! It was exactly what we needed this year. Many people walking by actually took pictures of the house (I think to consider renting in the future).
This is a charming cottage in an unbeatable location. The kitchen is well stocked and there are plenty of disposables (such as toilet paper and trash liners) for a lengthy stay. We were very comfortable.
Wonderful house. This is our favorite rental property on Kauai. The view is amazing and the location is great. The home was clean and well decorated. 5 stars. Would repeat.
Mahalo Will for your five-star review and comments. We look forward to hosting you again on Kauai soon.

Excellent location and wonderful stay!
We stayed at this property the first week in June and enjoyed ourselves very much. The location is of course a major selling point but the house is also very nice. Last year we stayed, at the same time of year, at a property two houses down so we had already been sold on the location. The house itself is very nicely furnished and as my wife likes to say, “it is real cute”. Pretty much everything that you would need, is furnished in the house. There are a couple things that would keep us from giving a five star rating and those are maintenance issues that should probably be taken care of. The refrigerator door tends to come open very easily, and doesn’t seem to stay closed real well at times, especially when closing the freezer door. You close the freezer door and the refrigerator door comes open. We had to watch this closely to make sure it was always closed as well as can be. This is a maintenance issue. There are several of the windows that do not lock or latch. They could easily have been opened from the outside and given full access to the house. I’m not too sure how good the security issue might be around this area when you are gone or at night, but it really should be fixed. I wasn’t too concerned during our stay but my wife wasn’t as comfortable knowing that some windows couldn’t be locked. In the picture of the front porch, it shows two lounge chairs on the porch. There is only one and that second chair would have been really nice but I don’t know what happened to the other chair. It also would have been nice if there had been a couple of lawn chairs. The house next door, managed by the same company, had lawn chairs but none at this house. I don’t know if this is the property owners issue but it would have been nice. All in all we did enjoy our stay here. Kauai is always a beautiful place to visit.
Aloha Roger and thank you for your review and comments. We apologize on the lanai furniture as one of the loungers was broken beyond repair and needed to be replaced. I am happy to report that the owner has replaced all the lanai furniture. Mahalo for letting us know on the frig and window latch, we had both those items addressed. Again, so glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to hosting you again.
Location was exceptional. House with no air was hot . Our kids slept in our room every night on the floor since their bedroom was so hot . You had to keep windows open downstairs all the time to circulate air. Air conditioner had to be replaced . Overhead fan at times didn’t work but then came on
Mahalo Julie for your 5-star review and comments. Our apologies for any inconvenience with the air conditioner in the bedroom. We try our best to make sure everything is perfect, however, sometimes things break. We replaced it right away and hope that you enjoyed the rest of your stay. We also have many fully air-conditioned homes to choose from for your next stay, if that is what you are looking for. We look forward to hosting you again soon! Aloha and a hui hou!
Much hotter in the home than we anticipated. Great location though. Cooler conditions, possibly better furniture -- didn’t really fit in the chairs and the outside sofa has holes in it. With some VRBO homes we enter through a code w/o need to stop and get keys.
Mahalo Steven for your review and comments. While we understand that it can be frustrating to make an additional stop to pick up keys, we do this as a means of protecting the security of our guests and properties. Typically, the tradewinds and cross breezes in the home will keep things nice and cool. However, when the winds slow, we understand that it can get quite warm. We do have a selection of homes that fully air-conditioned for your next visit. There is also new lanai furniture on order for this home. Our apologies that it had not arrived in time for your stay. We look forward to hosting you again soon! Mahalo and a hui hou!
We loved the location of this house, just steps from Brennecke’s and Poipu. The house is clean and well appointed. The view from all rooms, except the second bedroom, is outstanding. The house has a little wear, and we were fine with that given the location and price point. Two issues though need to be resolved before we would rebook: the lack of adequate air conditioning and the slope in the master bed. Because of the AC issue, the house cannot sleep more than one couple comfortably in warm weather. We don’t regret staying there though. The location and lanai can’t be beat.
Mahalo Sarah for your review and comments. We will pass on your note about the AC to the owner and please know we have addressed the bed. Mahalo for pointing it out to us. The views are pretty amazing and cool…so glad you enjoyed and we look forward to hosting you again soon. Aloha
The location and the porch swing!
We went through VBRO and are previously booked home fell through. We then found this home a week before our stay. We turned out to be very happy with it!. Patio furniture was falling apart and shower door did not close properly. Everyone was very friendly and helpful! We have already booked it again for November!
Mahalo Dawn for your 5-star review and comments. We are delighted to hear that you were able to enjoy this home on such short notice! Our apologies on the lanai furniture, we are working with the owner to make some upgrades. We are looking forward to hosting you again soon! Aloha and a hui hou!
The location of this home is perfect! The beach is a good place for snorting, boogie boarding, surfing, or just playing in the water. The best part though is just sitting on the porch watching the waves and the turtles.

The location of the house/cottage is amazing.
We had a great stay and really enjoyed our time on Kauai and at the house. We had a very good idea of what to expect since we had stayed at the property previously. I called the office when we landed in Lihue asking for an estimate of when we would be able to come get the keys -- understanding that check in is at 4pm and we landed 11am. They kept me informed on the status via text message and the process of picking up the keys was super efficient ie. less than one minute. There are few areas that are beginning to show their age. Some of the outdoor recessed lights on the lanai and the upstairs balcony were falling out and need to be replaced. You have a great portfolio of available properties and the entire process is very easy.
Mahalo Michael for your 5-star review, comments, and loyalty. We love feedback from our returning guests and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We will be sure to take a look at those lights and make the necessary repairs. We are already looking forward to hosting you again! Mahalo again and a hui hou!
Great house with a perfect location
Just spent a week at the home. It has a great location just steps from Brennecke’s and Poipu beach. The lanai is wonderful for viewing the sunset. Snorkel equipment, beach chairs, boogie boards and umbrellas are included which was quite convenient. The upstairs bedroom has a great oceanfront view and the mattress was quite soft and comfy. The downstairs bedroom has two twin bed. I highly recommend the home and would gladly return on our next trip.

The House of the Cherished Seacoast is in a perfect location right across a small road from the ocean.
Fabulous ocean views throughout. Great sunsets. Walking distance to beach and restaurant. Fabulous. The Koloa/ Poipu office was also very accommodating when we checked in to our new rental home. We’ve been to Kauai many times- more than 10 -- and were married there in 1996. This was our first time renting a home rather than staying at a resort and we are so glad that we chose Parrish. We will do so again for sure. Thanks, Pamela

The location was unbeatable!
We definitely prefer having our own house versus staying at a hotel or resort. Some of the furnishings have changed since the photos on the website. It would be nice to have a more comfortable couch to sit and watch TV on… otherwise all was great!
Mahalo Beth for your comments and 5-star review. So glad that you enjoyed your stay. We will gladly share your suggestion about the sofa with the owner. We look forward to hosting you again soon! Aloha and a hui hou!

Parrish is very quick to help
The Cherished Seacoast was an excellent location but needs a bit of updating. The sunroom could be more useful with a pull out bed instead of a wicker love seat. Also, the outdoor furniture was quite worn

We suggest a new shower in the upstairs bathroom
Mahalo Gig and Jeanne for your review and feedback. We can take a look at the shower and make some recommendations to the owner. Thank you for your suggestion. Looking forward to hosting you both again soon! A hui hou!

There was a TV issue which was immediately taken care of.

Can’t wait to come back here!
The house is a magical seaside cottage that will blow you away. When we weren’t galavanting on adventures around the island, we treasured time relaxing on the lanai’s comfortable chaise lounges, porch swing, and loveseat, enjoying the soft Kaua’i breeze, view and sounds of crashing waves and people-watching. The beds were comfortable, everything is impeccably clean and organized and the charm of The House of the Cherished Seacoast never wears off. You’ll even find ample snorkeling gear, coolers, beach chairs, beach umbrella and boogie boards in the hall closet for your free use! Everything about booking, checking in (Crystal is the BEST!) and staying here was sublime. My sadness about having to leave at the end of our trip was only mitigated by my treasured memories and confidence I’ll be back!
Charming house in excellent location...perfect place to stay on Kauai
First, I have to compliment the Parrish Kauai organization that manages this house. Their customer service is outstanding. They are so on top of it! Their phone App made so many decisions easy, and also made communication with them a breeze. The house was immaculately clean when we arrived. The bedrooms are very comfortable, and the kitchen was fully appointed. The very best part of this house, though, is the porch. We spent each morning sitting on the chaise lounges, sipping Kona coffee, and listening to the waves. There is tons of wildlife right across the street. Each time we snorkeled from that beach, we encountered sea turtles. A little way down the beach, just past baby beach, there was a Monk seal who slept on the beach all day long, and only 20 yards farther there was a sleeping sea turtle! The location of this house is great for touring the island, and the weather on this side of the island is reported to be less rainy. If I go back to Kauai, I will make sure I go when I can stay here again. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else!
Mahalo Jane for the kind comments and 5 star review. We look forward to hosting you should your travels bring you back to Kauai. A hui hou.
We really love this house
We have stayed here twice and will absolutely stay again. The location couldn’t be better. It is on the ocean and there is a beach just down the street (2 minute walk max). The house is a very nice design. Downstairs stays reasonably cool as long as the tradewinds are blowing, and there is air conditioning upstairs. Furnishings aren’t fancy, but they are more than adequate. We had a friend stay with us for the first few days of our stay. They used the downstairs bedroom one or two nights and the futon in the room with the TV the other nights. It was a little hot for them, but the tradewinds weren’t blowing at that time.
This home truly feels like our second home. We have stayed here three times now and have loved it more and more each time. The location can’t be beat and the home itself is lovely.

Outstanding ocean front rental
Just what we wanted. Oceanfront. Sparkling clean. Well equiped kitchen. Great location. Nice touches with coffee and toiletries. Great staff at Parish Collection. We shall return.
The house is beautiful but the living area furniture is not very comfortable. It would be nice to have lounge chairs outside; additionally, the website implies that you have a large yard when, in fact, it is a picture of the neighbor’s yard.
A little too much Sunset and surf!
We had previously stayed in Coconut Cottage, which is in a quiet little street. That being unavailable we opted for House of the Cherished Seacoast right on the ocean front. The house is lovely and well-equipped, however to watch TV the Daybed is very uncomfortable. In January (perhaps other months) you get a very good view of the Sunset, unfortunately the house absolutely bakes in the sun for at lest 4 hours at that time, all the blinds (upstairs and down) have to be pulled down in an effort to keep the heat out of the house. The lanai’s are un-usable also, because of the blaring heat. And of course the surf is so close, the noise at night is overwhelming. On the face of it, this house is wonderful but maybe not for us, just the wrong location.

The True Definition of Paradise!
My brother and I brought our mom here for her 60th birthday. It was the most perfect vacation and absolutely gorgeous rental. The ocean was across the street and two beautiful beaches were just a short walk away. Our rental home exceeded expectations and was equipped with everything we needed, including comfy lounge chairs to just sit on the porch and watch whales, turtles, and dolphins cruise by. I felt so lucky to be at “that house” where people walked by and looked in awe. There isn’t one complaint or gripe I have about this rental. It was simply wonderful. To be honest, I was tearful when returning the keys! Enjoy your stay here in this lovely home! It was the trip of a lifetime for us! Jessica
Great views,whale watching
We had stayed in Poipu before but never at a house. The views are great for whale watching and sea dreaming. The house was nicely apponted and equipped with nice porches and small well manicured lawn. The location is the key here walk across the street to the beach and down the street to Brenneckes There is parking in the back and a grill. The house is light and airy with plenty of ceiling fans. The kitchen had plenty of cookware and plates. I really don’t have any complaints.I might suggest a new coffee maker but honestly that is nit picking. This is a great relaxing spot and I highly recommend its restorative nature.
Cute House - Wonderful location
This house was offered to us ( we were on our honeymoon) when Whaler’s Cove became unavailable due to constuction. Designed for 4, it was just my bride and I. The location offers 180 degree views of the Pacific looking directly into the sunset. And it is only a 3 minute walk to bodysurfing and a lovely park. Quite obviously a remodel, the master bedroom was upstairs with a window air-coditioner which proved valuable. I prefer one level units to get the most out of the interior sq. footage. The decor was more to the taste of young families i.e. lots of flourescent colors in the paintings and decorations. It lacked the finer, elegant furnishings I have experienced before in condos rented by Parrish. ( I have used this company probably close to a dozen times.) So overall I would say perfect for young families ( You’ll have to fight over the Master bedroom as the downstairs bedroom is small, claustrophobic and has twins. Upstairs is a King.) There is a pullout couch in front of the only TV. If you want something more sophisticated and still want location to the water, try Whaler’s Cove. Parrish has a few units.
A little slice of Heaven
If you are fortunate enough to stay at The House of the Cherished Seacoast, you will undoubtedly return. It feels very much like home. There is a gorgeous lanai wrapping around the front of the house and a lovely yard surrounds the property. It is walking distance to Poipu Beach. You will not find a better location or a more lovely home to stay in. I give it the absolute highest review possible.
Breathtaking Beach House
Wow! This is just the perfect little beach house right on the water. The decor is perfect island kitsch. Very cozy and a wonderful layout. Our first morning we spotted a pot of dolphins just out to sea in front of the home. Turtles as well. Loved the location and all the attention to detail. Cannot wait to return!
