Incomparable Sunsets
Property management company was organized, responsive and made process easy. Amazing location, turtles across the street all day, 5 minute walk to sand/swimming beaches minimized crowds by house. Raised yard so no obstruction of sunsets. Beautiful house, duplex yet still private and can rent jointly for large family/groups. Owners need to up grade furnishings/carpet and supply adequate glass wear and knives. For luxury property at a luxury price, expectations on house furnishings were far below expectations. If you don’t need the third bedroom, rent Hale Nani property next door. Owners clearly take “pride in ownership” seriously, not so much with Nani Kai.

Spectacular views and location
We watched whales and sea turtles from the patio. Hiking, snorkeling , restaurants and groceries all within walking distance

Mahalo Scott for your 5-star. review and comments. It is wonderful that you got to watch the whales and turtles right from the lanai! We are so glad that you love the unit and its location. Aloha and a hui hou!

AWESOME!
We’ve used The Parrish Collection in the past and it’s been a great experience for us each time. The property location is the best including the ocean being literally right the door! The views from inside the property and outside are awesome! Also the location is the best being walking distance to beaches, resorts, shopping and dining. No question A/C is a must. We stayed at Nani Hale next door almost 3 years ago before these was A/C in that unit and I saw that there was a mini split system installed which is awesome! This unit for sure needs to have A/C installed.

Mahalo John for your 5-star review, comments and repeat business! We will pass on the AC comment to the owner and look forward to hosting you again soon. A hui hou.

Location, Location, Location!
Everything was as advertised and was so well prepared, we had no problems and the guide book answered any and all questions you might have. We spent our mornings and evenings on the porch. The house was more than we expected and was stocked with many items to enhance your vacation. We had 5 people in our group and never felt crowded or in each others way. Watching the turtles, soaking in the view and listening to the waves was incredible! We didnt want to leave.

Mahalo Crystal for your 5-star review and comments. We hope to see host you again soon. Aloha

Location, layout and view!!
Need to disclose that the Nani Kai is a shared/divided home. I didn’t know that we had neighbors, it is presented as a full house on line, not shared space. When I went to open the front door upon arrival, I was at the wrong door because it’s two residences. I’m in luxury real estate, full disclosure is the standard and much appreciated. I will definitely rent this house again if we return to Koloa as it’s the perfect location and very comfortable. Great linens, comfortable beds were much appreciated! There is some needed deferred maintenance on this residence that the owners may want to address; interior paint scratched, peeling, chipped in several areas. Master bedroom carpet is very worn at the landing between bath tile and seam. I had to put a towel down as I stepped on the carpet staples-ouch! Sliding screen doors need lubrication or replacement; Patio furniture is very outdated and no cushions provided as in next door, which had much nicer patio equipment/furniture. Several area rugs are very worn and dirty and need to be replaced. When you spend this amount of money for a week plus staying at a premium rated residence, these items are small costs compared to the overall effect and level of comfortability/luxury for guests. Thanks so much for being such an awesome company to rent from and I really appreciate your level of service and promptness with any questions. Warmly, Michele

Mahalo Michele for your five-star review and comments. We will be sure to take care of some of the immediate things you mention and pass on the rest to the owner. Please note we do mention that you can rent the “adjoining” Hale Nani and also show a photos of the homes together, but we do apologize for any confusion. We look forward to hosting you again soon. A hui hou.

Good experience
Great location, layout of house perfect for our family, would have liked ac in bedrooms but understand that is hard to find in Kauai

Beautiful house, unparalleled views, very comfortable and great location.
Six of us, a couple with two small kids and grandparents stayed. The space worked very well for the mix, with no one feeling on top of each other. The lanai was great for the kids, and we liked not having to worry about a pool. The stairs inside were a bit of a concern for the 18 month old, but we kept an eye on her. Easy walking distance to Baby Beach and a bit longer to Poipu Beach Park, totally doable with a wagon. When home from the beach it was nice to have the water view (with whales on the horizon and turtles right below when we crossed the street) without the crowds and noise of the beach. I imagine it may get hot in the summer with no AC, but in winter months it wasn’t an issue. We would come back.

Great house and location but needs some maintenance
Great location and great view! However, a number of things needed to be flixed: multiple louvered blinds were missing the rods needed to open and close the blinds, some sliding screen doors were very difficult to move, lamps in 3rd bedroom were coming apart. Long, fairly narrow driveway at back of house required backing vehicle in or out every time. Management company provided incorrect wifi code initially. Expected more for the price!
JP says
Mahalo Nathan for your review and comments. Sorry for any inconvenience on the blinds, door and lamp. I wish you would have let us know while you were here, we could have easily addressed (we called you twice, but no return call). We will be sure to check these things out to ensure they are corrected. The wi-fi code in our App and in the unit and all is correct so I am not sure of the issue, but again, sorry for any inconvenience. Aloha.

Lived up to expectations.
Very nice place. The only negative was related to the higher than average temperatures. Air conditioning would have been nice at night.
JP says
Mahalo Edward. We will pass on your note about AC to the owner. Typically, things are cool with the trades, but we do know when they are down, it can get warmer. Please note we do have properties with AC for your next visit. Aloha and a hui hou!

Gorgeous home and view! Unfortunately the home doesn't have air conditioning and it was hot.
This home is great for a large family, and the views are spectacular. It was close to beaches, food and shopping area. We went in June and it was hot and humid and we wished the home had air conditioning. We like to cook at home, and the kitchen was a bit warm to prepare food. Loved the hot tub at night!
JP says
Mahalo Kelley for your review. Sounds like you had a great time. We will pass on your note about AC to the owner. Usually the tropical trades keep things comfortable, but we do know sometimes when they stop, it can get warm. Mahalo and we look forward to hosting you again soon.

Amazing View
The Nani Kai location is amazing, very private and beautiful views. The seawall was popular to many tourists and locals to watch the sunset, while staying in the home you get the exclusivity of enjoying it in your own lawn. The home had 3 bedrooms with 2 queen and 1 king bed, 2200 sq ft was perfect for enough space for about 6 to 8 people. I was there from 9/27 – 10/3 and the total cost was $3600, included the cleaning fees. About $600/night. Highly recommend, Parrish collection was a delight to work with and the home was clean. I love the washer/dryer and remember there are plenty of things left behind from previous guests, I recommend brining your own spices for cooking. Also don’t forget the rooftop views of the stars, enjoy! Mahalo!

This rental almost ruined our vacation in paradise!
After planning this vacation for almost a year and looking forward to going to Kauai for the first time, we arrived ready to soak in the sun and beautiful scenery in Poipu. We rented a home based on the stunning pictures on the website. (first red flag) Then in order to pick up our keys we drove from the airport to the town of Koloa. The nice lady from the Parish collection, told us to open up all the windows because they had been painting all day. (second red flag) We get there and the fumes are intense and then we notice there is no air conditioning.(third red flag) We decide to not let this bother us. WE are in Kauai after all! I wake up early the next morning and make coffee, mind you it was 6:30 am..It was so hot in the house, even with all the windows open and the winds. I was sweating. I called the Parish Collection and asked them if there was something we could do. She replied “yeah, its hot in my house too”. WOW!! Great Customer service! NOT! In short, the ice machine didn’t work, the oven and stove didn’t work.. I would definitely not recommend this place!! Oh and did I mention the LOUD construction that started playing bad 80’s music next to us at 7am. Kauai, I love you, and i will be back, but I promise to never stay with any vacation rentals from The Parish Collection!

Aloha and thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are truly sorry that you did not enjoy this home. It is a great property and many families have enjoyed it over the years and although new to our program, we are glad to have it. I do see you booked directly with the owner through VRBO, so I am not sure what was described to you, but I know that neither the owner nor us advertise AC in the home. Unfortunately, it has been unseasonable hot with little trades and our front desk person was trying to make light of the situation by her comments as we all are experiencing the heat. With regards to the paint, the owner has been investing a lot of time and money to improve the home and we were trying to be helpful by telling people so they are not alarmed. As with any new coat of paint, there is a residual smell for a bit and we wanted to be proactive. One of the electrical breakers for the kitchen did go out which is an unforeseen issue that we immediately responded to. I see that it was less than 48 hours that you did not have the oven and we apologized. We make a strong effort to notify people of neighboring construction so that if it would be a major disruption, we can accommodate a move to another property. I am not sure why the owner did not notify you when you made your booking and for that we are truly sorry. I am glad to hear you will return to Kauai and hope that you will reconsider using us as I know this was a sequence of unfortunate and uncharacteristic events. Mahalo, The Parrish Kauai Team.
