A fantastic home base for our family of 4 to explore the island on our first visit. Walking distance to Baby Beach, our kids had a great time swimming and playing there. The house also has boogie boards, chairs, and everything else you need for the beach. Wonderful walkable location, hope to be back again in the future.

The villa was very nice. We were very impressed with it. I loved how much room we all had and space apart from our son so he could have his own room. It was comfortable and I would stay again.

Tropical Setting

This unit has a tropical setting due to all the plants etc. on the property and it backs a stream. The deck is nice for sitting and listening to the birds. There are a couple of coolers, ice packs, chairs, pool noodles, snorkel, etc. in the unit. The kitchen is well stocked with knives, plates, cups, etc. Limited spices but we brought our own due to allergies, so it was fine. Unit is cozy and perfect for 4. The loft is open and does not have a lot of privacy, but it is a large, nice area with its own bathroom. We didn't mind and thought it was a great unit. Pool area is nice and at the most there was 4 others while we were there. They have tables and a BBQ area in the same place but we didn't use. Only thing we didn't like is you need a key to leave, which is a little hassle if not all leaving together. All and all it is a great unit and we would stay again without parents. Note- 33 stairs to get into the unit since it is on the 3rd floor. Something to be aware of if you have health issues. Mom did ok but we wouldn't rent here again if she was with us.

Absolutely memorable

Wonderful stay in Poipu

Love this convenient location to stay during our vacation to Kauai. The two suites worked great, and the balcony overlooking the greenery and creek were a plus. Older residence but very comfortable, not a smell of mildew or the like. Would stay here again. Check in was seamless and great communication.

This is a very cute (and air conditioned) place to stay. It's minimal in amenities inside the apartment, for sure. But it has a large bedroom that gets very dark (which is nice), and an upstairs loft bedroom with a separate bath. The AC is fantastic, but the downside is that the ventilation for the AC is outside on the patio and blows extremely hot air directly at the patio table and chairs. A simple solution is to turn off the AC, but they could easily install a deflector to blow the hot air away from the patio table. Overall, a solid option, if a bit pricey.

My son and I had a fantastic trip. The condo is very spacious and nicely laid out. The gounds are gorgeous, with huge trees and plants and lots of birds. Great location, close to everything you'll need including the beach.

Perfect location for my interests (Diving, Snorkeling, water activities) and very convenient for shopping and necessities. The accommodation was exactly what was described. It was clean and comfortable and there were no unwanted surprises. Well thought out touches like beach equipment, shopping bags, etc. Bathroom amenities were top notch. I intend to return.

The Parrish Properties at Waikomo Stream Villas was perfect for visiting the South Shore of Kauai, HI. The place was clean, spacious, and located in a beautiful garden surroundings. Great spot for our family vacation. During the stay, we had an issue with the washer. Called and someone came the same day to fix it (it was my error after all :/). There was everything we needed for our beach getaway!

Great property, great management

While almost everything about this property is great, it is not 5 star luxury, just 4 star. But an excellent 4 star to be sure. Loved the little add-ons such as lawn chairs, coolers, beach umbrellas, beach towels for our use. Very nice touch. And the Poipu location was excellent. The one glitch was non-functioning a/c. Apparently a lizard got inside the main unit and fried the circuit board and repairs were not possible during our stay, although valiantly attempted. If booking this unit, I recommend confirming that the a/c is repaired before committing to it.

This is perfect southshore condo. AC and fans. Great balcony, bbq and pool area.

We had a lovely stay. The condo and grounds are perfect. The upstairs bedroom is a loft style, so not much privacy. But you feel like you are in a tree house being on the third floor.

A very nice unit but with one critical flaw.

When renting any privately owned property the condition of the unit can never be determined by looking at the photos. However, Unit 533 at Waikomo Streams scored pretty well in this respect. There was some typical wear and tear as is often found in a rental but not significant enough to diminish the experience. The one big disappointment was a very uncomfortable mattress in the loft bedroom. One side of the double bed sagged terribly (about 3 inches), making for a less than restful night and a stiff back in the morning. Unfortunately, this type of issue is not something the management company can address since they don’t own the unit. Hopefully, this review will motivate the owners to take action and future renters won’t have to endure what we did. Otherwise, the location was good, the complex was quiet, the pool was nice and well maintained and the condo was well stocked with assorted beach gear. The management company (Parrish) was accommodating and helpful, allowing us to check out at noon rather than 10am after we mentioned our dissatisfaction with the bed. Parrish manages a large variety of residences on Kauai so, while we certainly wouldn’t eliminate the Waikomo Streams complex on our next visit, we’ll definitely look at a number of other options as well. This was our 5th trip to the islands and we were very happy with this vacation. In our island travels, Kauai offers the best overall Hawaiian experience both for first time visitors or anyone returning to Hawaii.

Property maintenance was very good

The unit was a miserable experience. When we arrived it was over 90 degrees in the lower portion with the loft at least 5 degrees hotter My daughter ended up sleeping on floor in the lower level. One of the fans provided did not move any air. After we carried the luggage up the three flights of stairs, my wife and I took a shower only to discover the drain in the bathtub/shower was plugged The next day we found a hardware store and purchased two fans that actually moved some air. (We took them with us). We never used the loft in the 8 days that we had booked, as the temperature up there was not tolerable for sleeping The complex is convenient to the beach and shopping. A different unit may make the experience more enjoyable
Aloha Mark, I must say we are surprised by your review. When we spoke to you about the garbage disposal and had maintenance attend to it, there was no mention of the shower drain or the need for more fans. We certainly would have attended to both had we known. When you requested the late out, you stated you were “…having such a great time and don’t want to go home…”. We do know that it can get warmer when the trades are low and the sun is high, and are sorry that you did not have a more enjoyable stay. We can certainly guide you to a unit with AC for your next visit. Mahalo.

Loved our stay

???? The location was good for us, being not particularly beach people. It was central enough to explore the west side of the Big Island which is what we wanted. Also I think we avoided the resort type fees by staying here. Free parking. Friendly staff. Beautiful grounds. BBQs available. Great kitchen with everything you’d need, except oddly no kettle… ???? Nothing

Spacious and affordable

There may not be direct beach access, but the price is right and the 2bedroom unit was clean and spacious, plus was stocked with bench accessories. A nice lanai overlooking beautiful grounds, which unfortunately did include some very loud frogs croaking overnight. You can walk 10 minutes to the beach by the Sheraton and Kiahuna Plantation or less than 5 minutes to shopping and restaurants. Only complaint is that the beds were too soft.

Great place to stay!

Waikomo Stream Villas was the perfect place to stay for my friends and I. It is in a great location within walking distance to shops, restaurants and groceries. A very short drive to Poipu beach parking. The amenities where great- the kitchen has all you need to prepare a meal, there are grills onsite as well. Very clean and quiet. The Master bedroom and loft had very comfortable beds. The pull out bed could be suitable for kids but not very comfortable. There was an air mattress in our closet as well. Fans are provided because there is no central air. It got a little warm but not unbearable. It is definitely no frills but has a Hawaiian feel and you should be our enjoying yourself anyway! The staff was super friendly and I would book a stay here again for sure. Even despite the roosters that can’t tell the difference between day and night- lol!

A comfortable place to stay in Poipu

We booked #533 for a week. Positives: It is spacious, with an open kitchen, dining area, large living room space, lanai, and laundry facilities in the master bath. Extras such as pool towels, beach chairs and umbrella and masks and snorkels are provided. The view from the lanai is lush jungle, full of bird song. The pool is beautifully-tiled and a good size, with kiddie pool attached. It is well-located for shopping and eating out, close to 2 shopping malls. Negatives: It is not really walking distance to the beach, as I expected. The condo itself is quite dark. The second bedroom is actually an open loft, which may be a problem for some. Road noise through the master bedroom windows was a problem in the morning.

Enjoyed the accomodations thoroughly - we'll be back....

We enjoyed everything about our 3 week stay in Unit 533. It is spacious, clean, breezy (thanks to many louvered windows and the tradewinds) and most definitely gives you a feeling of being in a part of paradise. The grounds are lush and well maintained. The koi pond and stream and assorted bridges add to the tropical feeling. The swimming pool is clean and very refreshing to dip in on a hot afternoon if you choose not to go to the beach. There are beaches within walking distance from the complex. Everything you might need is in this unit. It was especially handy to have the apartment-sized washer and dryer on hand. The location of the complex is convenient to some shopping and eateries which can easily be reached by walking. The Waikomo Stream Villas complex, with its beautiful, tropical gardens, is a small jewel in the area because most of the surrounding properties have been developed and seem a bit bare of vegetation. We would most definitely stay here again. (At one point, 4 family members came to join us and the unit easily held us all with no feeling of crowding). Also, dealing with Parrish Collections, to rent this accomodation ,was a pleasure.

Su casa es mi casa!

My family had a grand time. The condo felt like home away from home. It came fully equipped with everything that we needed including boogie boards and beach chairs. It also helped that there was a unit washer and dryer. We really enjoyed a fun and relaxing time on the island. We would stay here over and over again. Great for Heavenly Time off

I stayed in Waikomo Stream Villas in July/08 for one week. I had 4 of my family and friends and we all loved this place. I would not change a single thing that were equipped there. I’m from New York and their facility met my expectation. Some people may think it’s too hot without A/C unit but my friends were fine without it. It has nice breeze and fan also helps. It’s especially affordable if you have group of people. Hawaii trip can be expensive but this way you can make it affordable trip by chipping the cost. It is located in perfect place in South shore of Kauai. Poipu beach was amazing and we also went to Hayatt Luau which was like 3 minutes of driving. There are several restaurants and Bar near the Waikomo. Kauai is pretty tiny island so everywhere was pretty accessible from the Waikomo. We went to Ke’e Beach which is the end of North shore but it didn’t take too long to get there from the Waikomo (about 1.5 hour to 2 hours depending on the traffic). I highly recommend this place for everyone. It’s rather a community than a resort or place full of tourists b/c people actually live there and rent the place out whenever available. So you can stay there quietly without bumping into tourists-tourists. To be fair, I would say that absence of A/C may turn some people off although it was fine with me. I left some of my belongins there and they were extremely nice enough to wash them and send all of the items to me with reasonable charge.
