Not what it looks like
by Jane B.I have been staying at VRBO places for many years now. I was very excited to go to Kauai and stay at this wonderful location. The pictures on the web site were beautiful. The place was not. The pool was dirty, the screen door was rusted open. The outside sectional was missing a leg. There was no cold water in the kitchen. Shower doors did not close. Bathroom door did not close. An end table top fell off. The place was dingy and drab. Parrish came and fixed what it could . Gave us a new fan. No where else to stay. Don’t get this condo. You are getting sold a lie.

The Resort Pool and BBQ areas are managed by the Association, and we passed along your feedback for their attention, though those amenities fall outside of our direct control. While we regret that the home didn’t align with your personal preferences, we stand by the accuracy of our listings and the service we provide. Great location for a small family. Driveable, not walkable to beaches. Beautiful views from the patio! Two bedrooms and two baths made it ideal for family of four (parents, two kids). Nice to have the pool right nearby for afternoons after the beach.

5 Star View & Location 2 Star Accommodation
by Jeff G.The location and views are outstanding. The unit is very dated and in ill repair ( 1990s). We arrived to find a huge puddle of water in the bedroom due to a blocked AC drain. Despite the maintenance team's attempt to fix the ensuite bathroom slider door doesn't close. The dishwasher does clean the dishes, You need a step ladder to reach the upper cabinet in the kitchen. The sliding glass door is difficult to open, and the screen door has holes in it. The windows are dirty, as is the patio furniture. It was cleaned, but only on the surface as many elements, like the bathtubs, are badly stained and there are stopgap repairs throughout the unit. It’s a let down when you walk in.
Our team responded promptly on the day of your arrival to address the AC issue, which was resolved by draining the pan. Once that process was completed, you were able to check in without further concerns. This home is currently rated as Deluxe, meaning it has undergone updates within the last 10 years. These details are clearly outlined in the listing to help guests make informed decisions when selecting accommodations, particularly if a more recently updated home is their preference. We wish you had reached out to us regarding any cleanliness concerns, as we would have been happy to send our team to address them right away. Additionally, elements like windows, patio furniture, and sliding doors can be affected by the salty air, which may have contributed to the issue you experienced. Had we been made aware, we would have gladly assisted you. Our team would be happy to help with your next accommodation choice to ensure you find the best option for your preferences and expectations.
Nice Ocean View needs better maintenance

Maintenance issues upon arrival: ants on kitchen counter; dirty master bathroom shower tile; puddle of water from master bedroom A/C unit on floor with flashing lights; smoke alarm beeped every 30 seconds needing new battery; two of four kitchen electrical outlets did not work. All issues were corrected promptly when we reported them. Slept well in comfy bed. Liked working mini split A/C units. Kitchen cabinets way too high

Our stay at Parrish Kauai was great! The room was clean, well stocked with kitchen supplies, toiletries, and beach equipment. The furnishings were updated and comfortable. The view can't be beat.

Amazing views
by lori C.We rented this property mainly for the view, which did not disappoint! Very comfortable outdoor furniture which we used daily. Condo was neat and clean. Living room sofa and beds were comfortable. Complex is very quiet. The kitchen has all your basic equipment needs. Management company is very attentive and quick to respond to all questions and concerns. We had an A/C issue with the master bedroom and unfortunately it wasn’t able to be repaired during our stay. However, the management company had an A/C repairman out the same day that we reported the issue and he returned several other times in an effort to resolve the problem. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would return to this condo if we find ourselves traveling to Kauai anytime in the future.

We have stayed at all of the lower units at Poipu Makai, and this one did not disappoint. We knew the view would be amazing, the sound of the surf all day, watching turtles swim and spinner dolphins swim by in the morning BUT it never gets old! The condo was very comfortable, with everything we needed and very clean. We also loved that it had AC, which was super nice for a July visit. Property managers were very responsive with timely info. Looking forward to staying here again!

This space was so nice to enjoy a beautiful view. Every evening we saw Sea Turtles fishing and could see all the way to Poipu beach. The property is dated but clean.

The condo was definitely dated but it was clean and had everything our family of four needed. The location is terrific, easy to drive anywhere on the island and a couple of blocks walk to Poipu Beach. The most wonderful feature is being right on the ocean, with a patio that opens to green grass and then a small cliff that drops to the sea. Such a beautiful and peaceful place for coffee in the morning, and such an amazing view of the sunset every night. The Parrish team was super responsive and helpful from making our reservation to check out.

Overall, my family and I had a great stay at this locations. Pros: beautiful view of the ocean from the back porch. Rooms were comfortable, condo felt very Hawaiian. Location was super close to Poipu Beach and other surrounding restaurants/shopping. Cons: this is not ADA friendly. My mother in law was in a wheel chair and they had no ramp for access. This was not listed whether it was ADA accessible or not. The parking garage is super tight in parking, Another con: we had 4 guests in our party, there was not enough silverware after the first usage. We had to constantly wash every time to use. If you plan on having a late flight on departure, I would recommend booking the condo for an additional night. Their standard check out is at 10:00. When I reached out to management 2 months prior, they said that late check out was available for 6:00pm but can only ask after checking in. After checking in, it was no longer available.

This unit is not ADA-accessible, you are right. While it doesn't say that specifically in the unit, we tried to be quite clear by specifying "Ground floor end unit, one level of stairs to entry". We also do our best to make sure everything you need is in the unit, but it seems like we were short on some flatware. We would have happily delivered more if we had known that you needed it. Apologies for the oversight. Lastly, we appreciate your suggestion about booking an additional night for late departures. While checkout is at 10 am, late checkouts can be secured in advance by contacting us and paying an additional 1/2 night for a 6 PM checkout. We also offer a complimentary noon checkout, which we can only secure for you once you are in-house, based on availability. The unit was available for a 6 PM checkout when you inquired in August but then booked in October, which is why it was not available when you were here. Next time, let us know when you are booking and we would be happy to confirm the late checkout for you then. We look forward to hosting you again soon.

Our unit had a great view and location, Poipu is an excellent place to stay. We booked through VRBO but I'll book directly with Parish next time. They are staffed with helpful and responsive people who answer the phone. While the bathrooms could use updating it didn't detract from our stay.

The location will always be a winner

You’re up on a cliff and, from the patio with full ocean views, you watch a parade of whale and dolphin pods go by, breaching and spouting and playing. It’s a front row seat to sunset every night. The unit itself is showing some wear but I imagine in that climate it’s difficult. I would also check to see what maintenance is scheduled for during your stay as we experienced exterminators, rail sanding and painting on the units above, and palm tree pruning, the last two preventing us from using the patio at all during the work. All in all, though, we enjoyed our stay there.

Thank you for a lovely stay! I would definitely consider coming back to this location. The twin beds in the second bedroom are quite comfortable. The master bed should probably be replaced. The boxsprings have bowed, and the top mattress is sagging quite a bit. I loved the coffee LDT as a gift for us, thank you!!! I also appreciated the grocery bags. Kitchen is well appointed. Grateful for the fans. Kept it just right. Appreciated the boogie boards for our use. Sofa was super comfy. Views of course stellar. It wouldn’t take much to earn my fifth star, but perhaps the mattress and the older aesthetics contribute. Not a deal breaker at all (bed is a distraction for me) but worthy of 4 stars for sure.

Lucky on Ocean
by alex p.The patio view is excellent! Beautiful sunsets. Excellent location, close to many things. The walking path to Hyatt and beyond is great! The interior was dated and the kitchen set-up is terrible. Cabinets are too high and doors hard to open. Parking is Tight! The outdoor table legs(2) were repaired with duct tape. The pool is tiny and water tempt cold. Overall enjoyed the stay(ocean, turtle & whales from patio) and would be Much better with some maintenance issues addressed.

If we knew you were having trouble reaching the cabinets, we would have helped you find the two stepstools for that purpose. Beautiful condo with oceanside views.Only a 12 minute walk from Poipu Beach and an hour and 15 minute drive to Hanalei Bay. Definitely recommend staying here!
