Exploring The Villas at Poipu Kai
by Robert S.
Well maintained and equipped 2br Villa connected to the beautiful Poipu Beach via the "greenbelt" walkways surrounded by lush beautiful gardens throughout this 70 acre community in Poipu on Kauai\'s south shore that also connects you with the Grand Hyatt Kauai snd Shipwreck Beach. This modest Villa has all the comforts of home, and is perfectly located for 2 couples looking to explore beautiful Kauai! Mahalo to our wonderful hosts!
Short title? Best vacation ever!
by Elena G.
On the scale from 1 to 5 this house should have about 23. 🙂 We are quite experienced travelers and usually we are trying to book a house, not a hotel for our vacations and conference trips , so we do have a lot to compare with. So far - this one is unquestionably the best. Location is perfect - 3 minutes walk in one direction is a Shipwreck beach for surfers and experienced swimmers and Grand Hyatt resort with the best restaurant on the island and beautiful place for morning coffee (opened from 6 AM), 12 min walk in opposite direction is a Poipu beach, safe, easy and completely protected from waves, with beautiful snorkeling and sea turtles (they are coming to the beach at every sunset and are going back to the ocean after a sunrise). One of the very nice hikes starts right in the corner of Shipwreck beach and watching sunrise from the top of the cliff there is something special. Weather is almost ideal and much better than on the North side of the island - and Kauai itself is absolutely beautiful. If you are hikers - I highly recommend Waimea Canyon and Sleeping Giant (second - if you are experienced hiker). If you are not - you can see the Canyon from the observation point accessible by a car, but you should see it. It is not called Grand Canyon of Pacific for nothing. And the last, but not least - house itself. For the family or party of 3 or 4 people it is Goldilocks perfect - not too small, not too big, just right to feel very comfortable. With a lot of air and space, but not too big and empty. And it is exceptionally well maintained and stocked with everything - from the kitchenware for quite complicated cooking if you like it, to the golf clubs and charger for Tesla... To make long story short - it was our best week of vacation for the last 25 years. And we already decided to book it for the next year for more than a week. 🙂
Wonderful Family Time Together

Great location, easy access to multiple beaches, home was immaculate and well-appointed with many thoughtful touches. Very responsive property manager with any questions during our stay. Would stay here again.

Perfect spot, would stay here again in a minute.
Kauai vacation and conference
by Brian W.
This property was perfect for our group of 3. We were attending a conference at the Hyatt next door so location was very convenient. Lots of good places to walk nearby. Property management was very helpful with any questions. Very well stocked house, extensive kitchen supplies, beach chairs, toys, even golf clubs.
Mahalo Brian for your 5-star review and comments! We are happy that you chose to stay with us at Maikalaniat Poipu Kai during the conference. It is good to hear that you loved the home and found everything you needed to feel comfortable during your stay. We look forward to hosting you again soon. Aloha and a hui hou!

Close access to the Hyatt via the Greenbelt trail (husband had a conference there). Only reported an issue regarding the key for the pool but was able to get it resolved with the businesses close to the pool regarding upgrading to a key fob lock and simply keeping the pool gates unlocked even if they were shut.
Mahalo Jim for your 5-star review and comments. We are so happy that you had a great time on Kauai during your conference. Recently the Poipu Kai Association switched from standard keys to the key fobs to access the pool. We are sorry if you had trouble during the transition to the new fobs. I’ve verified that all the new fobs are in place. We appreciate your feedback and we look forward to hosting you again soon. Aloha and a hui hou!
Will definitely stay again!!
by Jim M.
We loved this property! We ultimately chose it for the closeness to the Hyatt for my husbands conference but it was a great home base for our adventures all over the island! Everything you could need and more is provided with the house! Will definitely stay again!
Mahalo Jim for your 5-star review and comments We are thrilled that you enjoyed the home and its location. We are so happy you found everything you needed during your stay. We look forward to hosting you again. Aloha and a hui hou!

We love booking with the Parrish group because of their friendliest and we know if we have a problem it will be taken care of. Cynthia kept us informed as our trip got closer to date and also called us to let us know ahead of time that the swimming pool would be unavailable
Mahalo Kristi & Jerry for your 5-star review and comments! We love hearing from our returning guests. Glad that everyone really helped you feel at home and taken care of. We cannot wait to host you again soon! Mahalo and a hui hou!

I have stayed in many rental homes in many places… This home is perfect! It is so thoughtfully stocked! There is a spice rack! And kitchen basics! Not just a single soap. I mean there is oil, and sugar, and plastic wrap, and flour!! Basically everything you want but don’t want to buy for a week long vacation. There is EVERYTHING you need for the short walk to the perfect beach! Chairs umbrellas towels a cooler! Oh yeah, the home is gorgeous and clean and perfect too… Stop looking. Rent this one.
Perfect stay at Poipu
by Charles-Eric L.
We were here for a congress at the Hyatt. We definetly liked our stay. It was few steps from the hotel. The house is confortale, clean and very well equiped with a more than complete kitchen. I would recommend this place to anybody!
Great location, spacious and well equipped. Great alternative to a hotel or condo.

We enjoyed this home very much for the week we were there. Especially appreciated the well equipped kitchen, the beach gear that was provided, and the easy greenbelt walk to Shipwreck Beach, Poipu Beach, and the Hyatt. Downsides: swimming pool is pretty far away, and the A/C in the master bedroom was weak. Nice garden view, but have to walk 50 yds to see the ocean. Unit was clean and well maintained, but mgmt was unable to resolve an issue with the entertainment system during our stay so we couldn’t watch any DVD movies.
Mahalo John for your review. Thank you for the heads up on the AC in the bedroom, we will be sure to have it checked out and fixed if necessary. For your next stay, please tell us while you are here so we may address it immediately. Sorry we were not able to get the DVD player working. This has been since corrected. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to hosting you again soon. A hui hou.
Amazing location and comfortable home!
by James E.
As two couples, we shared this 2 BR home in Poipu. It was perfect! It is a 5 minute walk to the beach, and in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. The kitchen is completely ready for you to make a meal or two; just add the ingredients! The utensils, appliances, and table service are all ready for use. It is close to the Grand Hyatt, which was convenient since 2 of us attended a conference there during our stay. The pre-arrival instructions were clear and obtaining our keys easy. Also, when the drip coffee maker conked out mid-stay the management office was quick to replace it that day. There is a large flat screen TV (not that you will use it much with all there is to do on Kauai). There is a garage and driveway to park off street. We would stay again…very satisfied!
Mahalo James for the 5-stars and comments. We look forward to hosting you again soon. A hui hou.

Location, Location, Location!

Maikalani is a pleasing and comfortable home located in the beautiful neighborhood of Poipu Kai. The house is clean and neat, with more cooking equipment than we have seen before in one abode. The bed in the master bedroom was extremely comfortable, and with the individual zoned air conditioners we could efficiently cool certain rooms without necessarily freezing out other rooms. The lanai off the dining area is pleasant for breakfast in the early morning sun, and that lanai as well as the lanai off the master bedroom are relaxing in the evening and dusk. Wi-Fi was convenient for researching Kauai attractions and locating restaurants and shops in the local Poipu and Koloa areas as well as the rest of the Island. Two guidebooks in the house were indispensible: one the latest edition of “The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook” by Doughty, and the other a custom directory for the home covering use of systems and equipment in the house, local restaurants and shops, and other relevant day-to-day information. The rear of the home is on the greenbelt, allowing beautiful and peaceful walks to the Hyatt and Shipwreak Beach to the East and to the Poipu Beach to the West. Along the latter route, the Poipu Kai pool and spa are accessible with a key, as well as the tennis courts. Poipu is on the warmer less rainy South Shore of Kauai, making for a comfortable “base camp” for excursions to different regions of the Island. Waimea Canyon viewing and hiking and the Polihali Beach are to the West. Kapa’a is to the East and Hanalei and the Na Pali Coast are around the Island on the North Shore. This was our second stay at Maikalani and we can’t imagine a more welcoming home.
Lovely
by M&B
Extremely impressed with this vacation home and the well appointed kitchen. The additional fridge in garage is fantastic. We were grateful for the gift cards to Red Salt and Koloa Wine Store. Those were very nice venues. Parrish did extremely well and we loved the helicopter experience with Jack Harter.
It was Fabulous!

Maikalani was clean and supplied with everything. Wonderfully quiet and comfortable inside and out. Good mattresses. Lots of windows. Perfect location and wonderful pathways with beautiful landscaping. The owners touches made us feel very welcome. The Parrish staff was very friendly and caring. They really wanted to accommodate us and wanted to be sure we would like where we were staying and aware of what we might like and supplied it. Thank you again for accommodations that provided a terrific vacation. You were all so good to us!

My wife and I just finished our stay here and it was breathtaking. This home has everything you need (plus more) and is a perfect getaway. Everything in the house is pristine and in great condition. The house comes with all the appliances you need to cook and enjoy your own dinner, or just a walk away from some of the finest cuisine Kauai has to offer. Without a doubt we will be back next summer. Thank you for making our anniversary one to remember! Also the waffle mix is outstanding! Great touch!
