The home itself is quite huge with 4 bedrooms! The deco was very Hawaiin and the furnishings were beautiful and elegent. The kitchen was very easy to use and they even had detergent to wash our clothing. Each of our grandaugters had their own bedroom and the area was very quiet and seemed quite safe. We loved the weather as it was just perfect with very little rain. Also we could walk over to Hilton to use the beach along with several other beacheds that are walkable. The beds were amazingly comfortable!!

I loved the whole experience of my stay in Kauai starting with our rental and the staff. The island is gorgeous, our rental was even better than expected and the staff was responsive and helpful throughout our stay.

Loved this rental, pictures don’t do it justice. Much bigger than pictured with a beautiful tropical backyard. The neighborhood is very nice and a great location. It is close to several beaches great for snorkeling, shopping and restaurants. Definitely what I pictured Hawaii to be, very tropical and relaxing. Staff was very helpful and attentive. I would love to bring my family again!! Thanks again

Issues at property

There are a few items that need attention: one of the patio chairs is completely ripped out, the bar-b-q is not getting enough oxygen to heat properly, the ceiling vent in one of the guest bedrooms drops “stuff” on the bed, the dryer makes a banging noise.

Property not as described!

The couches are not those in the picture, they are smaller. The carpets are stained and dirty, the toilet in the master is incredibly loud and woke people up. The dryer did not dry, the burners on stove only work for 2 at a time. We were told we could have 3 cars with 1 parked on the street in front of the house, yet the 1st morning we woke up to a parking violation on our car because street parking was not allowed. This house is definitely outdated and needs a lot of work!

The carpets were professionally cleaned in November. Some stains did not lift out. We contacted the owner and will meet to discuss replacement options soon. Both the dryer and stove run on propane, which ran out mid-stay. The gas company is short-staffed and came as soon as they were able to refill the tanks. The two burners that worked likely ran off residual gas in the line. Lastly, we made a mistake when we advised about the street parking and we are so sorry that we accidently misinformed you. While it’s important to understand that issues sometimes arise, we are sorry that all these things occurred during your stay. Please know all of these items have been or will be addressed, like the photographs and the carpeting. We hope we can host your ohana in the future. Mahalo.

Hale Lani was a well-appointed and in a great location for our week stay. Shipwreck Beach and Poipu Beach were a short walk away and there's nice paved paths to walk on to get around the neighborhood. We had a party of 7 adults and it fit us fine. Mahalo!

A place to call home

We loved our stay here, it was like a place to call home while we were away! It’s spacious, comfortable and the house layout really optimizes personal privacy. We were able to readily prepare and enjoy meals together, relax outside watching birds and geckos and take in a movie on TV some evenings. It’s perfectly located too, to walk down to Shipwreck Beach or Brennecke’s, or to the bottom of the hill to watch the turtles. Having AC really made it comfortable too!

We had a wonderful visit to Kauai, staying in Hale Lani in Poipu. The house was clean and had all that we needed to enjoy our stay. The garage held everything we needed for the beach. We hope to come back.

Location=perfect easy walk to both Poipu and Shipwreck beach, can not beat the location Amenities= the house was stocked with everything we needed to have a stress-free vacation, including high quality toiletries, containers to store our food, grilling tools, snorkel gear, towels, laundry detergent, etc Management= one of the easiest, most seamless check in and checkout processes I’ve ever had at a rental. There was zero confusion, and it was very easy for us Highly recommend this home for anyone coming to Kauai that wants a cozy and home-y place to stay. The house is big enough for everyone to have their own space, but small enough to not be super expensive. We cannot rate this place high enough. Will be coming back here next time we’re in Kauai!

Awesome house with everything you need, located steps from the beach. Take a surf board (provided with the house) and go surfing at Poipu after 5:30pm. You will not be disappointed

Comfortable, convenient, well-equipped house for large family

We very much enjoyed our 11-night stay at Hale Lani. Between 5-7 adults used the 4-bedroom home as our base for all kinds of fun and adventures around Kauai. We loved the convenient location, with easy walks to Brenecke’s, Poipu, and Shipwreck beaches. We appreciated the laundry facilities, mud-room entry, barbecue and garden space. Plentiful beach towels, folding chairs and coolers made outings easy. Bedrooms and bathrooms were functional and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped. Three separate cooling zones made it easy to stay comfortable inside. Our only minor quibbles were a sliding glass door from living area to patio that stuck, and a bit of a mildewy smell when we first arrived. As it had been a rainy week before arrival and there was some standing water outside the entrance, we hypothesized that this may been “just one of those things” in a tropical location. But as the days got sunnier any remaining smell dissipated. Overall, we were very pleased with the location, service (including being able to check in a couple hours early our first day) and set-up at Hale Lani.

Hale Lani turned out to be the perfect accommodations for our cycling vacation to Kauai. We enjoyed using the Webber gas barbecue cooking Costco steaks. The combination of ceiling fans and air conditioning made it possible to perfectly adjust the interior climate. Everything was provided for a nice day at the beach which is a 10 min. walk from the house.

The house is roomy and airy with a lovely patio and tropical garden. It is very well equipped in the kitchen and bathrooms…lots of beach and house towels for the 8 adults in our party and everything in the kitchen you could possible need. Umbrellas, deck chairs and beach gear in the garage. Comfortable beds….and even the Office bedroom which is very comfortable…totally private but just a little noisy due to the slight open wall at the ceiling…but still separated from the kitchen by a hallway…and with its own bathroom….worked out fine. If anything…the house description/photos doesn’t emphasize enough how nice the house/patio/garden are….we were happy to find it exceeded our expectations and there was a much bigger patio table/chairs than shown in the photos…and 2 sunloungers and the beach gear in the garage! A lovely 5 min walk to Breneckes beach/Hyatt, 10 mins to the pool and 15mins to Poipu Beach. Stores and reastaurants and other beaches all a short drive away!
The good, the bad and the ugly

The Hale Lani home is located in a lovely, well-kept neighborhood. The kitchen is superbly equipped, affording us the opportunity to cook some really fabulous meals. These meals were made all the more special eaten in the lush, gorgeous garden which we enjoyed at meal time, for morning coffee, afternoon quiet time and cocktail hour each day. The bedrooms in the main wing were comfortable & nicely furnished with comfortable beds and, though dated, the bathrooms functioned nicely (great water pressure once you got the hot water to that side of the house!) The Parrish Collection staff was courteous & it was nice to have the home stocked with essentials upon arriving. The house should NOT be listed as a 4 bedroom. It’s a three bedroom with extra twin beds in the office which did not accommodate my 200 lb, 6′ 2″ grandson well. This house is a mid-century design with open walls above this office which also made sleeping there difficult if anyone awakened early or stayed up late! The “short” walk to the beach & pool statement is inaccurate. It’s 10 minutes to the beach & 15 to the pool. Lugging chairs, towels, etc., there was not convenient. Further, these locations were inaccessible to our 74 yr old family member (as I suspect it would be for families with small children.) These were 2 must haves on our wish list that were not accurately described in the listing. Had they been, we would have made another home choice that would have worked better for our family. As to the after hour check in procedure – totally unacceptable! Most daily flights come from the mainland quite late in the evening. Traveling unlighted, 2 lane roads at 11:30 pm (raining like crazy, too!) and having to make an extra stop to pick up keys was not fun or easy. Even with our GPS locked in – finding the Parrish Office with the giant tree in the middle of the driveway was ridiculous. Gratefully someone we waved down knew where it was and lead us there. LOCK BOX at the residence! This home, though comfortable, is dated. Especially the living room furniture which was actually coming apart during our stay and the badly stained carpet was just unpleasant making the daily fee feel inappropriate. Our celebratory family vacation was magical. Kauai is lovely, we had many great outings. Hale Lani was not unpleasant but did not meet the description in the listing. Parrish needs to rethink the truly inconvenient check in process. Doubt I’ll use HomeAway again.

On the beach locations, we provide a map so our description can be interpreted correctly as we know “short” to one person is not the same for another. Again, we apologize for any confusion. Our office is open seven days a week and actually, very few of our arrivals are at night. We are sorry you had a problem finding our office. We made a conscious decision not to use lock boxes as they are impersonal and most guests like to be greeted by someone in person. We do offer our Elite homes where you can be greeted the home which may be an option for you. Lastly, we have been working with the owner to upgrade the exact furniture you mention. I am just sorry we did not have it in time for your stay. In the end, it sounds like you had a wonderful time and glad Kauai delivered a “magical” stay for you. Mahalo.

this unit was better than we expected! it fit our family perfectly & had so many perks. the descriptions were just as they were explained in original ad. walking paths to the beach & more. the backyard was like our little piece of paradise. we would definitely stay there again.
Great location and beautiful setting

We stayed at this property for Spring Break, with our 11 and 14 YO boys. Great location – Brennecke’s for boogie boarding, Poipu Beach Park for snorkeling, the pool, and the beautiful coastal hikes East of Shipwrecks Beach. All within walking distance! The house configuration worked well – lots of room but gave my husband space in the “office” to do some work that he had to do. Loved the quiet and privacy of the backyard. The house did have some maintenance issues (broken AC) while we were there but the staff at Parrish rentals were very attentive and responsive so it wasn’t really a problem.

Just wanted to send a quick Thank you to the Parrish Kauai! We just stayed for 2 weeks at the Hale Lani 4 bedroom home on Poipu. We loved every minute of our stay!! Hale Lani is so inviting, relaxing, clean, peaceful and quiet (only thing we heard was the rustling of palm fronds and the fountain). This was by far the best vacation we’ve had!!
I especially wanted to thank you for extending our check out til noon! Was so perfect for our late afternoon flight!
We appreciated you meeting our every need while there.

Hale Lani - Surprisingly Great Home

We were pleasantly surprised by this rental. We came for two weeks and had a wonderful time. The pictures of this property should be updated. For example, most of the rooms have pretty nice flat screen TVs. Overall, the location (neighborhood) is very upscale. The house has a wonderful lay out where the rooms are far enough away from each other to truly make it feel like everyone has their own wing of the house. The appliances are a bit dated, but they all still work. We spent half our time eating out in any event. The BBQ is a very nice Weber that worked great. The beds are comfortable and the house is very clean. The complimentary extras (boogie boards, chairs, umbrella) are also great adds. The proximity to the Grand Hyatt is also a real win for this location. Overall, this property exceeds expectations and we would very much stay here again.

We recently stayed in this beautiful house to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. The house was meticulously clean when we arrived and stocked with towels, soaps, cleaning supplies and beach equipment. It’s a short 5 min drive to one of the best beaches in Kauai, poipu. The house is very roomy which was great for us traveling with two little kids and two college students. Everyone had their own little corner of the house for peace and quiet. The kitchen is great with all the utensils you can imagine plus picnic stuff to take with you. Our only complaint was that the air wasn’t working in the master bedroom and they never came to fix it. Also there were a lot mystery bugs that will bite you if you don’t keep the fans on. But I guess that’s a small price to pay for coming to paradise. The house is decorated really nice and we liked the entertainment center with all the DVDs. It’s a 20 minute drive to Costco which we visited several times to stock up on bread and drinks. The neighborhood is super quiet and the streets are payed smoothly for skateboarding.

We truly appreciated the fact that both of my sons and their families could spend quality time together with me, their mother. It was wonderful to have a home because we live in different parts of the United States and we wanted to have a home/family vacation together.
Great for two families

Hale Lani is a nice house. We stayed with four adults (two families) and four children, 5,2,9mo, and 3mo, and it worked out great. One side of the living room has a separate area that has two rooms and a bath, separated by a door from the living room. One of these rooms has a queen (with a door to the porch and yard) and the other two twins. The master bedroom is on the other side of the living room and is quite nice, also with a sliding door to outside, and a great bathroom. The fourth bedroom is ‘semi-private’ (one wall does not go all the way to the ceiling) but has a door and is large and our two-year old slept there. The house is not too bright as far as sunlight; there are no huge windows and no views, but the air conditioning works great and overall we were very pleased. The back yard is very nice and peaceful. The beaches are all a short walk. Also, we had a problem with the gas at one point, but the emergency number we were given was answered and our problem solved within 45 minutes. We were impressed and will stay with parrish again in the future.

It is a very nice home and we had a lovely timy. To life in Poipu is a good place to start trip on Kauai and it is not far to walk to Brennekes Beach (good for kids) or Shipswreck Beach. The home has everything we needed and the garden is very nice. See the pictures, it says it all… Thank you for the nice stay there.
Informal Comfortable Pleasant Vacation Home

This house was just right for my family of 6, which included a grandfather, son, daughter in law and three boys 10 – 14. Very comfortable, in excellent condition – not new but very acceptable. Excellent tropical back yard – lots of bananas growing with some ripe. Air Conditioning was good and very much needed, particularly at nite. Without it neighborhood noise and activity becomes an issue through open windows. Patio was ok – deck furniture not great. Because there is a tropical garden there are more insects, kept in check by geckos. With strong tradewinds blowing it is a perfect spot to relax. When the winds die down, mosquitos appear.

This is a great house for a multi-family/group rental. There are three bedroom/bathroom areas and then a central kitchen/living/dining. The garden is lovely for playing and relaxing. Kitchen needs some decent knives but otherwise, no complaints and highly recommended.
