Hale Kai Kalani (“House of the Heavenly Sea”) is a perfect Kauai cottage situated on one and a half acres of land just up from the picturesque Rock Quarry Beach (also known as Kahili Beach). Conveniently located near Kilauea Town, home of the Kilauea Lighthouse and the Crater Hill National Wildlife Refuge along with many beautiful Kauai beaches. Rock Quarry Beach is just a ten minute walk or two minute drive from your comfortably furnished island vacation home.
The large spacious lanai overlooks the Pacific Ocean, the Kilauea River valley, the lush Crater Hill National Wildlife Preserve and a fresh tropical jungle waterfall. The property’s lushly landscaped grounds include seasonal tropical fruits including bananas, limes, figs, starfruit, and coconuts…all available to you during your stay.

Our family loved our stay Hale Kai Kalani through Parrish Collection. The home was as described, a spacious place with a view and A/C. Our family loved the large property with fruit trees & privacy. The landscape was lush, and well maintained. The kitchen was well organized. I thought the bed was perfect, but my husband found it a little too soft for his taste. The house provided everything we needed and plenty of space. We loved sitting on the deck, looking out over the trees. The beach is only a half mile away, but it is down a pretty steep hill. We drove down it & parked bc the walk up would have been tiring. The beach was beautiful, but looked rough so we drove the 15 minutes to Hanalei Bay for swimming & to Tunnels for snorkeling. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants more room and privacy than a hotel or condo on a golf course.

Great location for privacy and quiet. Awesome views and beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed the peaceful town of Kilauea close by for restaurants and groceries. Well appointed kitchen for cooking.

We loved the view from the back deck. The birds in Kauai are amazing! Yes, the roosters woke us up early, but we got used to it and slept through. Kihili Beach is just down the dirt road next to the house, so we walked down once and drove down when we wanted to bring more stuff. The traffic on that road can be noisy, but we got used to that too. Great location, comfortable house.

A very nice house. Maybe a little smaller than it appears in the photos, but the perfect size for our family of four (plus an infant). It's well laid out and the kitchen/dining/living room makes for easy socializing when preparing food. There is a great sloping lawn leading down from the back deck, which has a lovely view down the Kahlil River Canyon.
Easy drive of just a few minutes to shopping and restaurants in Kilauea. Close to Hanalei and the Na Pali Coast, but far enough away to be quieter and more rural. The location is private and quiet although there is a little bit of road noise from cars heading down to the beach but that's over pretty much at nightfall. Very quiet during sleeping hours.
Note 2: The entire North Shore closes down by 8:00pm. Plan on early dinners if you're eating out.
We would happily stay here again if and when we return to Kauai. Recommended!

Beautiful home. We wanted the Kauai experience and got it here. Loved hearing the roosters. Was very pleasantly surprised by the close beach & botanical gardens across the street. Loved the back lanai for morning coffee & casual dinner. Bed was very comfy.

We stayed there for 18 days. It’s truly a wonderful location. Gorgeous view from the deck. Very peaceful and private.
However we put 3 ⭐️ because the
kitchen stove was broken, and master couldn’t fix it, same with dish washer, it was broken, and master also couldn’t fix it. And in general all the equipment in the house is old.
Also it was not pleasant to wake up in the middle of the night with a cockroach on you, it happened several times.
At the end we wanted to say if owners would change the equipment and treat the house for cockroaches, we would really recommend this place and would come again, because of its perfect location.

We tried to troubleshoot as best we could during your stay. I am sure you understand that sometimes appliance repairs take time, even on the mainland. On-island, these repairs usually call for specially ordered parts and other issues that may cause delays. You will be happy to know that a new stove has been ordered and is due to arrive next month. Throughout your stay, we were in frequent communication and you never once mentioned issues with any bugs in the home. The home undergoes a routine preventative pest control program. We could have set up an additional servicing if we had known you were having issues. Even so, being the tropics, sometimes they come in from outside. We are sorry that you experienced this during your visit. We appreciate your feedback and hope to host you again.
Rooms with a view
by Richard H.This house is a great location to anchor your North island fun, many beaches "one 13 min walk", amazing food, easy shopping for food / gas / etc without dealing with the Princeville traffic The lānai is spectacular, with all day shade, fresh trade winds blow right up the hill / through the house, we turn off the ample AirCon for natural breeze. Outside table and lounges are great and comfy. The house is very comfy with great couch's / tables, and yes Rummikub..!!! Granite counter tops / full kitchen / blender, I don't think coffee grinder but didnt need it as they gave us great stuff pre ground. One great think about getting to this house is that it has it's own turn lane off the main road "very safe at night". Things to note: The beach below the house is public, so you can get a bit of low speed cars / gravel driving on the road that is below the sight line of the view, but nothing at night, very quiet. Has beach chair's / boogy boards / etc Make sure to check the guest log before leaving, very interesting reading about how people used this house durning COVID, great get away... The only non 5 star "4/5" item was cleanliness, but remember this house is almost off grid and should expect some level of dust / dirt around the place "it's in the country....

This airbnb is a great find for those who like privacy, many amenities, and walkable to isolated beach. One doesn't have to pack beach gear because almost everything is provided. Parrish responded very quickly to my requests including locking myself out of the safe! Maintenance, housekeeping and office were all friendly and quick to respond. Bring ear plugs or a sound machine due to roosters, but they are everywhere in Kauai.

Ideal spot for those who want to get away from the resort crowds. The proximity to a great beach kept us from having to drive all the time, and the beach was never crowded. Beautiful views from the lanai, in a quiet neighborhood. Close access to town made it easy to zip in/out for groceries, restaurants, or just a little holoholo around the north shore. Mahalo!
Great house
by Tayler W.House and location was great. Very quiet and relaxing. Was nice not having people around. Only negative was the deck was rotten and I fell through the deck. Was very lucky not to be severely injured, and even luckier that it wasn’t my pregnant wife or older parents that fell through the deck. Our hammock broke on the first night, and per the conversation with the manager I thought we would get a replacement hammock which never happened. Beyond that it was great!

Comfortable house, good location but no ocean view
by Jeffi I.This is a midsized, updated house in very good condition inside and out, next to a 1/2-mile walk or 2 minute drive down a dirt road to a very nice white-sand beach that\'s not too busy, but popular with surfers. The property is well located within 15-20 minutes\' drive of the best beaches in Kauai, 10 minutes from grocery/bakery/restaurant/gas, but there\'s not much activity on the house\'s street itself. House has 2 good bedrooms and 2 good bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, and comfortable living/dining room. All rooms have ceiling fans and there are a couple of air conditioners which we did not use, it was never too hot or humid inside. Everything is in very good condition, all appliances work, kitchen offers everything you\'d want. The rental loses points because there is no water view as shown in the listing...those trees are taller now so zero ocean view. The back of the house lanai/deck faces that view, which is green and lovely. There\'s a teak dining table, two chaise longues, and a hammock. House is pretty private, no neighbors adjacent and you\'ll hear the ocean softly in the background all the time. There is some noise from the dirt road leading to the beach immediately adjacent to the house, so you do hear surfers\' SUVs and pickup trucks going down in the morning and returning in the late afternoon, this might bother some. But it\'s less noise than you\'d get in a denser neighborhood or a busier road. Overall this is a great place to stay on the north shore, but the listing should be updated to remove the idea of \"water view\".

Our stay was lovely. The house was comfortable and really well located. We enjoyed the 15 minute walk to the beach, easy mornings on the lanai watching the chickens and short drives to great hiking. The only disappointment was lack of kitchen supplies such as oils, tin foil, spices ... We had a great time.

This place is a gem. Cannot beat the location, natural beauty, privacy, convenience, and value. Close to all north shore destinations including a beautiful beach and swimming hole just down the road. It was perfect for a family of 4—clean, comfortable, and spacious with breath-taking views. Perfect spot to get away from it all, but still be so close. We can’t wait to come back!

The location of this property was perfect for us during our stay on the north part of the island. Many beautiful beaches and great hikes within easy distance. We enjoyed our meals on the deck overlooking the huge yard and beautiful foliage. Lots of entertainment watching the chickens and egrets in the yard.

Do NOT stay here: Dirty, dilapidated, and poorly decorated
by Noah L.Plenty of hot water, and convenient access to Kilauea are the highlights of this place. It has been substantially changed from the photos. It looks like it was decorated 20 years ago by a couple of college students with $100 budget. The house is dirty, and desperately in need of maintenance. Doors that don't open or fall off, window frames with chipped and peeling paint and dirt, one burner on the stove is broken, the hammock from the photos is nowhere to be found, the deck chairs were so threadbare it looked like we would fall through them, the ancient CD player doesn't work, cheap, scratched up pots and pans with wobbly handles, the list goes on. The window coverings in the master bedroom are two smaller, thin, plastic, stained things sewn together that you can't open, and the mismatched curtain rods are broken and fall off. The mattress has water and mold stains, and the icing on the cake was finding the blanket full of bugs. The general location is great, but sadly it's a few feet from a busy, steep dirt road to a popular beach, so the lanai and the whole house are filled with dust and the sounds of roaring engines and spinning tires on a regular basis. Either the owners are in on the plan to ring as much profit out of this place as possible, or they're being swindled by the management company.
Aloha Noah. This home has many fantastic reviews by very happy guests. We feel yours is quite harsh and possibly in retaliation because we were unable to give you a late checkout when you asked. While we cannot do anything about the dirt road, the home is on a quarterly power washing schedule to keep it fresh. Also, many of these concerns were never even raised during your time with us. You asked us for help with the door. We came right out to assist. You mentioned the lounge chairs and we had them replaced the next day, for which you expressed your appreciation. However, you never let us know about the pots or hammock or any of your other concerns while you were here. We've addressed these items, but it is a shame we were not given the opportunity while you were here.

We loved this sweet, comfortable house where we stayed for 8 nights. It was perfect for our family of four. It was well stocked with (almost) everything we needed. We enjoyed breakfast and birdwatching on the back deck, overlooking the beautiful yard. Cooked dinner on the grill every evening. Slept soundly on the comfy beds. And really appreciated the tasteful and interesting art decorating the place. The location is terrific. Love the North Shore vibe in general, and Kahili Beach is wild and spectacular. We would definitely stay here again if/when we return to Kauai.
