Our Kauai vacation rental guests always give high marks to Luau Kalamaku. It continues to be one of the most popular Hawaii luau celebrations on island. This Kauai event held twice weekly at the historic Kilohana Estate offers the ultimate Hawaii party. It’s also a great time to celebrate special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and Kauai weddings.
What to expect: A warm greeting with orchid leis, local craft vendors selling Kauai made products, a variety of Hawaiian games to play, live Hawaiian music, yummy Mai Tai’s, hula lessons, traditional style imu pig preparation, and lots of aloha and conversation. There is entertainment throughout the evening and to top if off a beautiful theatrical presentation as you’ll see in the video above.
Kauai Luau Vibe: What separates Luau Kalamaku from others is their attention to guest experience and personal touch. The staff does an excellent job of sharing the Aloha spirit. Greeters come to your table and talk story to make you feel at home, “Hawaiian Style.” Be sure to take photos with the cast to remember your evening. It’s like going to a family or friends’ luau and having a connection from start to finish with people important to you.
“Ono” Delicious Hawaiian Food: Extensive buffet with traditional island food and vegetarian selections including gluten free.
Hawaiian Entertainment: No matter where you sit, you will have an excellent view with their “in the round” covered stage setting. The show features one of the most advanced lighting and sound systems in Hawaii. Performers tell a story of Hawaiian history while incorporating the native hula dances. It’s about remembering the struggle of a father’s decision, his journey and prayers to Akua (the Lord) for guidance, and the light (Kalama) and the flaming torch (Kalamaku) to guide his people.
Luau Kalamaku is definitely an experience you do not want to miss on your Kauai vacation. Bring your favorite Aloha wear and plan for a fabulous evening.
