On a beautiful Kauai evening, The Parrish Collection Kauai hosted six renowned travel writers visiting the Poipu resort area of Kauai to a luxurious evening in one of its top vacation rental homes - Kauai Kai.
The June Press Event was put together by the Poipu Beach Resort Association to help promote the Poipu Beach area and its outdoor activities, spas, eateries and accommodations. The travel writers were treated to an evening of great Hawaiian pupus and Mai Tais all while relaxing in the comforts of a five bedroom oceanfront estate. This home was specifically chosen so that we can get more exposure to the values of luxury vacation rental homes.
Representing online resources such as about.com and luxist.com as well as OC Metro, OC Family, Southland Golf, FORE and Portland Family magazines, the Gay and Lesbian Travel Guide, and more, these writers know luxury travel well. The evening started with an orchid lei greeting and tour of the home. Afterwards, the group along with Jody Kono Kjeldsen, Executive Director of the PBRA as well as other associated staff gathered around the oceanfront pool for good conversation, pupus and drinks to watch a wonderful sunset. Purveyor of great wines, Dan O’Connell of The Wine Shop in Koloa poured some truly great wines. The evening ended with a special birthday celebration which was truly a great surprise and treat.
