Great place, not so great carpet

Well located, very easy to walk to the beach, lovely balcony, plenty of kitchenware. We enjoyed the provided beach chairs. Two problems: the carpet is super old and kind of gross. You’re asked to take your shoes off, but there were bits of leaves and other stuff on the carpet when we walked in, as well as many questionable stains, which was not ideal with a baby. Other issue was towels. We were given about half the towels as we had people. Put in a service request, they said they’d bring more, more never arrived. Went to the office and they said it would be an additional $90 for more towels, and that we should wash them ourselves. Which we did, but would have preferred actually having the right about of towels instead of washing them between people twice during our stay. Kind of ridiculous for this price point.

While it has recently been professionally cleaned, it sounds like we may have missed a few spots when we prepared for your arrival. We are always happy to come by and touch up anything we might have missed. I've reached out to you directly to investigate what might have happened with the towels. You should have been supplied with enough beach and bath towels for the number of guests on your booking. I am still unsure why the towels were not delivered when you asked, but it seems like when you visited the office, there may have been a miscommunication about a towel exchange or linen change service rather than simply picking up the towels that you had requested earlier. We are sorry about this and understand that doing unnecessary laundry throughout your stay is less than ideal. We are sorry and hope to have the opportunity to host you again.

this place was BEAUTIFUL!!! It was spacious, clean and everything was so comfortable. the view was AMAZING!!! It is located in a great spot too. you can see the ocean from the back balcony and the mountains from the front balcony. will definitely look to stay here again when we return!!!

September stay

Family of 5 with a 7 month old. Condo was a nice size and within a 5 minute walk to to Poipu Beach. Great section of beach for kids. Such a beautiful island, would stay again!

This condo is amazing! Larger than it looks in the photos and unbeatable location. We saw whales from the balcony, walked to Brenneke’s and Poipu beach to see turtles and a monk seal. You can walk or drive to multiple restaurants. Very clean and the kitchen was easy to cook in and close to the grills. I would book this condo, or other properties by Parrish Kauai again!

Incredible location and very spacious interior (especially the bedrooms). We discovered upon arrival that the dryer was broken, but the host was very good about accommodating us to the extent possible by arranging laundry service. That was literally the only hiccup—and something other travelers would be unlikely to have to deal with. Great unit, great view, extremely short walk to beaches, and very close to other attractions.

We booked this condo for 8 days in October of 2022. We have stayed in rental condos for years across the mainland US, Europe, and even in Asia. I cannot recall one that was cleaner than this one. It was easily within the top 3 best furnished stays also. The location of Po’ipo cannot be beat. The property management company has a great communication process also. We would definitely stay here again.

Great rental and honestly, the best vacation rental we have ever used.

Our stay was perfect from the Parrish Collection striving to give us the best Hawaiian experience to our rental unit which was beautiful and spacious. The views of pool and ocean were fantastic and sunsets memorable. Check in and out procedures were easy and made arrival and departures painless. The complex is beautifully maintained and there was always someone at the office to answer questions. We would definitely work with Parrish Collection for vacation rentals!

Easy check in. Unit is as pictured. Cooler and i e packs provided for outings. Full sized shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash and hand soap… and they actually work! Full kitchen. Washing machine and soap provided. Walking distance to Brennecker and Poipu beaches. And more!

Wonderful condo with a fantastic ocean view & the sound of the surf to lull you to sleep. We wanted for nothing, & the place was exactly as described. Easy ten minute walk to Poipu State Park with good snorkeling, swimming, and giant turtles coming ashore at sunset to rest. Don’t hesitate to rent this condo. The grounds are beautiful & well maintained. You will not be disappointed. It’s a slice of paradise.

Nice quiet location - walk to beaches

Overall we liked this location. The property itself is a great location walking to beaches and across the street from the water. Condo needs a few additions of kitchen items which we will suggest. Back bedroom is large but toilet lacks privacy. Nice views of sunset.

This Airbnb is DEFINITELY worth the stay. Huge space, well stocked, and you cannot beat the location. While we were there, the light in the fridge went out and they had it fixed within hours. The host is very responsive. Checkin was easy (via lockbox) as was checkout. Go to Brennecke and Poipu beaches!

OMG. It was much better than we even expected!

I planned our trip w/out input from my husband or 2 teens so they didn't know what to expect & my fingers were crossed. It was such a lovely condo and SO comfortable! It was the perfect way to decompress after the ordeal of the COVID test requirements and the long flight. My peeps were terrified that I was going to drop them into some loud, touristy situation but it was just completely serene and quiet. If you're looking for wild and frenetic, this is not the place for you. This condo was just the ticket and it really made all the rest of our crazy vacation completely doable because we had such a nice place to retreat to. Only bummer - the non-functioning hot tub. Sad-face emoji! We'll def be back!

Can’t Beat The View!

We had an amazing time in Nihi Kai #421. It was well stocked, clean, in a nice location, had a great cross breeze; however the view and sound of crashing waves that made it spectacular. Will definitely stay here again.

Thanks for providing some basic spices like salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. We already booked again for next year and we are looking forward to coming back to Nihi Kai Villas and Kauai. Spaciousness, view from the lanai, full kitchen, meeting other guests at Nihi Kai Villas (excellent social atmosphere), well-maintained park-like grounds, very friendly and helpful staff.

Great Place, Lose The Incense!

We were delighted with the location, the pool, the large space and the lanai watching whales. It’s very beachy, comfortable like an old shoe. I would give it 5 stars but as we walked in there was a fragrance that immediately triggered my wife’s sensitivity, and brought on a migraine. After some searching we found some incense in mason jars that really were intense. I’m not sure if this is meant to mask some of the age of the carpet and wear and tear of the unit, but it seemed unnecessary and once we put it outside on the landing we could breathe. Some care towards this would make us jump at returning, it’s an issue that more and more people are experiencing or now voicing. Looking at some of the older reviews the septic smell never bothered us, the trade winds were really blowing that away from us. It is a two flight stair walk up, didn’t bother us in the least but would be a consideration for people challenged by this. We cooked on the common grill with ease, the kitchen had most items we needed other than spices and foil or wrap. We slept great, neighbors were quiet, the mattresses could be upgraded but not uncomfortable. Thanks!

Amazing View

This condo was great for us. Location is perfect, right above the pool with amazing views. We’ll look to rebook this unit again in the future. A few notes about the unit that might help others considering the unit: 1. No A/C -- but great cross breezes. The louvered windows allow breezes to flow. It was a cooler week during our stay, so it was plenty cool in the condo. Not sure how it would be on a hot week. 2. Due to no a/c and reliance on cross breezes -- all the interior doors (bedrooms, etc.) are louvered too, allowing airflow while doors are closed -- so the unit lives a bit like a large studio from a sound perspective… there’s really no effective sound insulation. Not a problem for us, but worth mentioning. 3. There are no bath tubs. The listing said there were tubs, but both bathrooms have shower only. With 2 little ones we were looking for a unit with a tub to clean up after the beach. Minor inconvenience for us -- the location/view made up for it and we’d stay there again despite the lack of tub 4. The unit is a bit older, shows some wear and has a lot of carpet. For some that would not be ideal for a beach holiday… For us it was perfect with 2 little kids. 5. Being a top floor unit -- the stairs are significant. No big deal for us, but something to consider if stairs aren’t your thing. 6. Other reviews complained about sewage smells… we had some occasionally as well, but only short periods. Not enough to complain about. A septic truck did come and pump at one point in the week, so maybe the holding tank is near the pool and that causes it? Overall an amazing value -- the grounds are great, location is fantastic, staff are very friendly and accommodating, condo is spacious and fully stocked, the view is top shelf and sleeping to the sound of crashing waves can’t be beat.

Awesome View!

We loved staying in #421! Very comfortable and in a great location. The condo was well appointed with all items you need for a relaxing vacation. Did I mention that the view is amazing? I think the 400 building at Nihi Kai is the best kept secret in Poipu. We are definitely returning!

Nihi Kai

Great location down the road from all the touristy spots so you avoid the hustle but can walk to Brenneckes beach easily. The pool and tennis courts are right there no crossing the street like Kiahuna Plantation. If you want a great view I recommend a third or second story unit. Parking is easy and our unit came equipped with everything we needed , beach chairs , boogie boards , sand buckets etc. plus no charge for the use of tennis racquets they just Loan them to you. I took 3 teenage kids and it worked out great. Manager was super helpful.

Unit 421

Unit was well kept and clean. First few day an awful sewer smell kept coming into unit until they cleaned the tank in the parking lot below. View fantastic, front office and all amenities in super shape and ease and access to pool and beach within easy walk. Will stay again at same place.

We fell in love with Kauai and staying in the Nihi Kai #421 was enjoyable.

???? Nice location. The pool was lovely. The staff were amazing. ???? Beds were hard. Kitchen sink cupboard had mold everywhere and a very strong smell of mold. Drinking glasses and coffee cups in very short supply. Every time i tried to open the door on the fridge, the whole fridge rolled forward.

Great place - excellent value condos with ocean views

We’ve stayed here twice and this time came back with a big family group. This is an awesome place, professionally managed by the Parrish Collection, which offers a great value for vacationers. We have experienced units 100, 401, 402, and 421. All have wonderful ocean views and are clean and comfortable. Here, you get a spacious condo, a nice pool, lovely ocean views (especially at sunset), and easy access to Poipu beach (about a 5 minute walk). We’ll be back!

Our Fourth Stay at NK 421

As always we had a wonderful stay at 421. The new kitchen remodel and window treatments are fantastic. The view and the way the trade winds come through this condo is the best. All Parrish employees are great and helpful. We use the pool, beaches, and the park. Great location. The master bedroom does need a new king size bed, but overall the condo is equipped with all that is needed. Thanks. Cann’t wait for our next visit.

Location location location

Time in Paradise

Condo 421 has a view which we believe is on the front of postcards from Nihi Kai and it is spectacular. Having been and stayed at Nihi Kai 4 times in four different condos, and enjoyed them all gives us a decent perspective. This one has a remodeled and efficient kitchen which is nice when you stay for 30 days because you tend to use the kitchen more with a longer stay. The flights of stairs are to be considered because they can be tiring. The bed in the master bedroom is not as comfortable as we would like but these are minor problems. We enjoy the nearness to the pool and tennis courts. I would definitely recommend Condo 421 and in particular, Nihi Kai.

Excellent Accommodations

Poipu is the best place to sty on the island of Kauai. Why? For one good reason: mosquitos! Kauai is called the “Garden Isle” because of the large amount of rainfall it receives every year – it keeps everything lush and green. This means that on the rainy sides of the island (the north side) it gets very wet. Poipu, on the other hand (on the south side) is very dry. The unit at Nihi Kai we stayed at was simply wonderful. Mostly new inside, it featured an incredible view of Poipu Beach with just a short walk to Brennecke’s Beach and a wonderful swimming spot for children. The rest of Kauai is beautiful and charming. Just make sure you’re prepared for the mosquitos!

Great Place

The location and view was awesome. The trade winds worked wonderfully -- it was great to have a week without AC. The sunsets and the midnight moon over the ocean will bring memories for a lifetime. I visit Kauai every year and have stayed at Nihi Kai, rented houses and hotels -- you get your bang for your buck with this place -- and its nice to have the pool after you spend the day in the beach. Across the street you can see the turtles in the Jello -- my favorite. Good luck -- Carlos

Would stay again

Geat location with nice view of the ocean, clean. Owners and staff we had contact with were all helpful and friendly. Only compalint was the dishwasher wasn’t working properly.
