Kauai Dramatic views

It is mesmerizing and relaxing sitting on the porch while watching the waves breaking on the rocky coast line. The property was very clean, the hosts extremely communicative and the property was well stocked including beach chairs, boogie boards and beach towels. We had an extremely comfortable stay and will be back!

Amazing view

This was a beautiful, clean, property which was just as described. Everything felt homey and comfortable. The master shower was amazing . The views were incredible . It was a little walk to the beach, but not too far. The Parrish collection was easy to work with, and kept me up-to-date on everything that needed to be done. Check in and out was easy.

This condo was Clean, comfortable and spacious. The views were amazing. My husband and I enjoyed walking to the Hyatt coffee shop early in the morning as the sun was rising, although you don’t need to do that as you can see it from the balcony. It’s just a nice walk though.

We have rented many, many properties while traveling and this one will be one of our favorites by far. Outside of the amazing location, the unit was really clean and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was fully stocked with nice, USEABLE, appliances and cookware. The bedding/linens and towels were tasteful, clean and nice cotton (as opposed to cheesy polyester bedspreads that you see in so many rentals). The beach equipment was a nice surprise and all of it, too, was nice and in working condition!

Makahuena 3101

Our stay here was outstanding! Unbelievable views and sounds of the south shores. Enjoyed coffee on the patio every morning while watching sea turtles. 2 Large bedrooms and loads of room with all the amenities for our family of four with two teenagers. Close to walking paths to Shipwreck Beach or Poipu Beach. Pool great way to cool off at the end of the day! Communication was clear and convenient from Parrish managers. Would definitely stay here again! Mahalo

Stunning views!!!

This property worked out perfectly for my husband and me! The location in Poipu was ideal! From the moment we stepped in to #3101, the view nearly took our breath away!!! Coffee on the balcony every morning was definitely a highlight! Several great beaches located within a mile of the property! We will definitely be back

Spacious condo as described and shown. Lots of great gear for the beach. Great panoramic view of the ocean and lots of windows. Walking path along the coast was great! You can hear the upstairs footfalls pretty loudly even with the windows open and music playing which was sort of annoying and disruptive to relaxing. The blinking light outside the master bedroom is VERY bright at night but there are curtains and a wood shutter that can be used to block it.

Lovely ocean sounds and privacy

Nice end unit right at rocky edge with excellent view of sunrise. Great path for morning walks along the rocky shores. We loved having evening wine on the balcony. Pool decent with hot tub. Felt quiet and private. Drawbacks: Sandy beaches are a 20+ minute walk or short drive. Flashing ship beacon shines into unit at night. Might be a bit too hot in summer with AC being small units not central. Unit above foot traffic loud.

Amazing

Amazing was the word that I thought of when we walked in and saw the views. We loved hanging out on the patio and listening to the waves crash against the rocks. The kitchen was well stocked and the place was very clean. The management company was great to work with and very responsive.

This place was perfect! The views were spectacular!! It was about a 5min drive to restaurants and Poipu and Shipwreck Beach. The home was very clean and spacious! There was also beach gear available (chairs, umbrella, ice chests, boogie boards). We would definitely like to come back again!

Fantastic location and view. Spacious and good amenities like chairs, umbrella. Right next to a long walking path. The only drawback is that there is a very bright light constantly blinking at night which is visible in both bedrooms. The master doesn’t have curtains over all the windows and for both bedrooms even with the curtains the flashing light is very visible at night. Otherwise a fantastic stay.

Gorgeous setting for family get-away

The condo provided gorgeous setting, sunrises and sunsets were incredible. Kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials to include cooking and eating utensils and wine glasses. GREAT property. There is a little bit of a walk getting to the condo and you will encounter a couple of sets of steps…price you pay for the fabulous view and setting. We had a mechanical problem with the air conditioning units in the bedrooms; property management team was aware of the problem, left us a note upon our arrival. They were on it….they resolved the problem by day 5 of a 10 day visit. REMEMBER, we were dealing with the New Year’s holiday and the weekend. FABULOUS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT TEAM. Great views

The view from this condo is wonderful and you can hear the surf crashing below; it’s pretty magical! The unit, however, could use a bit of updating. The kitchen is very cramped and the layout makes it difficult for more than one person to be in there at one time. A more thorough cleaning would also be recommended; although not a deal-breaker, the grout throughout the unit needs a good scrub, as it is quite stained. Overall, however, this was a great place to stay, with a great view and beautiful walking path just outside.

Great stay

We enjoyed the views at the condo. Just amazing and much better than just an ocean view. The waves crashing in to the rocks was worth every ooh and aah. The kitchen had everything we needed. When looking for a place, we needed ground floor because of limited walking ability, only to find three sets of stairs to unit and then three sets going to the small but very relaxing pool. Each series of steps did have 5-10 yards of walking before another set so we managed. The unit could use a little TLC but overall it was clean. The a/c worked great in the bedrooms but rest of condo was warm and needed the fans. Outside patio always had a breeze and when shaded very enjoyable. We would stay again in this condo. Whatever the condo lacked, the views well made up for it.

Very well appointed. Master bed and bath are amazing. Only the 2 bedrooms have a/c so it’s a bit warm in the kitchen/living area. View is amazing. Windows everywhere show ocean and horizons from three directions.

Beautiful view and sound of crashing surf

We would tell ourselves “best view all day” when we returned back for the day. Large crashing surf that you hear as you fall asleep. Very comfortable living room. Highly recommend it

This condo was located right on the water. The place was very private, clean and the bed was comfortable & the shower was fabulous. Would definitely return. There are air conditioning units in both bedrooms and fans in the rest of the living areas.

Location, location, location

This unit was very nice, but with it being a 2 bedroom and 4 people staying it would have been. Ice to have more than total of 4 washcloths for a 5 day stay

The unit offers a great view of the surf, however no direct beach access. The closest beach is a 15 min. walk. The unit was equipped with every amenity possible, incl. kitchen equipment and towels. The bedrooms have AC. This is an older building and the unit could use some upgrade, as goes for the community pool. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Both sunrises and sunsets from lanai

What a view! The water is right there, and we saw whales galore plus dolphins one day. Turtles are abundant in the coves along the shoreline access path. A very large unit, with bedrooms nicely separated. Not handicap accessible. Right in the middle of Poipu, so near everything.

Amazing ocean front, lovely and comfortable inside and out

The ocean view is amazing from everywhere in this corner unit! Spectacular sunrises and sunsets visible from the lanai in December. The bluffs are an easy walk and the unit is comfortable and clean with carefully curated photographs of Kuai’s natural beauty. My husband and I definitely wanted a unit with air conditioning and were very glad it was available for the bedrooms. However, the unit is situated so that we never needed it. The trade winds and fans were more than enough to keep us cool and happy. We spent a week and hated to leave.

What a perfect spacey oceanfront property. We loved double sliding doors that lead to the beautiful lanai. We saw whales every morning as we were drinking our coffee. The artwork that surrounds the condo is also a great touch. You have everything we could possibly want in the kitchens and baths. Just an amazing stay!!! Thank you and we will try and be back soon.

Stayed for one wonderful week, plan to go back next year. Great great place

This place is a hidden gem. The unobstructed view of the ocean is stunning. Unlike the rest of the island that gets lot of rain this southern tip of the island gets little rain and mild breeze. The 2 bedrooms in the unit are at opposite ends which provides privacy. Having washer and drier in the unit makes it very convenient. Plan to go back to same location next year.

This condo is older and not updated, so be prepared for that. The location is fantastic, hard to beat. Spend time on the lanai and you will see turtles, dolphins and whales in season. The sunsets from the property are wonderful. The pool is a nice plus for children.

The view!

We had a great time in the unit. Although construction was going on next door, I realize that there’s not much that can be done about it, and we were gone most of the day anyway. I mentioned the down-filled couch before, not an big issue, and the only other thing I would have liked to see would be a roll up blind on the east side of the lanai as the sun is very bright in the morning. It was nice to have extra paper supplies and shampoos, we absolutely loved the place!

NO Host to greet us
Aloha Paul! I am glad to hear that you and your family had a wonderful time. As you are aware this condo sold in early November and the new owners were gracious enough to honor the existing reservations. The condo was thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival and we will certainly notify the association of any additional pest control needs, as they handle the regularly scheduled rounds. It is unfortunate that you did not advise us of any concerns otherwise we would have certainly addressed them to your satisfaction while you were here. Our contact details are in the home and you could have easily called to request assistance. When we found out about the construction happening next door on the adjacent property we immediately advised all Makahuena guests so you were notified at the same time we were notified by the developers of the adjacent property. The new owners are working towards making improvements as time between bookings allows so look forward to great changes in the future for this home. We had been in touch with you in early December to get the additional paperwork signed and you did sign them, so I do not feel that we were unreachable as we did get in contact with you and advise you of the new check-in procedures. As a return guest to the Parrish Collection you will be eligible for our 10% repeat guest discount on your nest Kauai trip at the majority of our properties so we look forward to seeing you again!
