Depending on the tide and the time of year, you may see the natural reef or black sand with soft white sand just a half mile down the coast. Continue another half mile to a swimming area with a lifeguard station and a vast stretch of uncrowded sandy beach. |

"West is best! Especially if you stay in the fantastic cottage, which is like staying in your own resort. We ate all our dinners outside here at the cottage using the grill extensively. The quiet and secluded locale did not prevent us from taking journeys around the island. The greatest complement we can pay to Kauai and the cottage is to say we hope to be back soon!
