All Around Fantastic

This was our first time staying at Nihi Kai and it did not disappoint. This unit exceeded our expectations. You can't beat the location. It is within walking distance of several beaches and restaurants. Our favorite spot was the balcony. We enjoyed watching the whales and dolphins in the morning. The evening sunsets were spectacular. You can hear the waves crashing from the bedroom. The unit is nicely decorated. The kitchen is well stocked. There are enough windows to keep the unit cool with the tradewinds. The pool is very close and well-maintained. The only issue we found was the placement of the refrigerator. The chairs and cooler that were provided were a bonus and much appreciated. You can't open the freezer all the way, making it difficult to access, but that did not distract from our stay. Can't wait to start planning our trip for next year. We will surely be back.

Great location

Very well located unit within a very well located property. Nice ocean view. Saw whales from our balcony! Easy walking distance to Brenneke’s beach with a cool restaurant/bar. 5 minute drive to shopping and multiple restaurants.

Fantastic location and well equipped condo

My family had a great time in this Poipu condo. The location can't be beat! You are steps from the beach and the pool. You can hear the ocean at night! It is well equipped. We are a family of 4 and having some beach chairs available was great. We would come back any time. Just know that there is no air conditioning. There are plenty of fans and the ocean breeze really helps it cool down at night.

We loved this place so much. From the location to the view to the sound of the waves crashing mere yards away to the exceptionally updated kitchen and bathrooms this hit all that we needed for our first trip to Kauai. It was hot and humid (and Hurricane Dora decided to drop some incredible winds for a few of the days) but this unit faces East/West so if you have the jalousie windows open on both ends of the unit both upstairs and downstairs, the place keeps a breeze and there's fans provided too so don't let the lack of a/c keep you from staying. The communication from the hosts from arrival to departure is on-site and quick to respond to any questions. Very much appreciated. And the location can\'t be beat as you can just walk to Brenneke's or Poipu in mere minutes. We will return and sure hope to stay at this unit again.

The only issue we had is that the beds are very hard. We woke up with cramps from that, but the condo is awesome! Loved the view and the pictures matched the place perfectly.

Fantastic Waterfront Location!

You can\'t beat this location. You fall asleep and wake up to the sound of waves crashing on the shore. Next to popular beaches and a great restaurant. I was surprised there was no AC. Besides that, a great property!

Just what you expect

Great location and nice size unit for 4 people. Sunsets are perfect from the deck. The kitchen is well stocked with even an insta pot. The beds were comfy and the fans appreciated especially since no AC. Could not find any info on the WIFI but some sites say it has WIFI and some not. Owners seem to be updating so it still needs some TLC. Carpet is in bad shape and could use a good cleaning but overall, it was perfect for what we needed.

Absolutely love staying here! Only complaints would be there is no AC, and the beds and pillows were very hard. Other than that, it is my favorite place to stay in Poipu!

We felt so lucky to be staying in this amazing location. Literally it is directly across the street from the ocean. The unit was very clean and staff was very helpful. Definitely recommend staying here!

This is a comfortable and well situated unit run by an experienced and professional organization. My wife and our 2 adult children had all the space we needed and the pool was a lovely place to cool off after a day in the heat. Loved being close enough to the waves crashing on the near by shore to hear them in the dark of night. We never needed anything so didn\'t get to test the responsiveness of the \"host\". A few things if you\'ve never stayed in Poipu: The closest stores are small and geared toward tourists, if you intend to cook for yourselves hit the Safeway and Costco by the airport. Local produce stands were far and few between, mangos from Mexico in the Safeway, seems wrong. If you\'re intending to eat out in the kind of post covid era prepare for busy eateries and random closed businesses. But the Hawaii mojo makes up for the occasional disappointment.

We didn't want leave, and really hope to go back there sometime.

???? The place was even better then I expected, with a spacious upper floor, and a very pleasant deck at all hours of the day. The location is amazing, you can just walk barefoot with your snorkel and not bother with any bag to go watch the fish. 3 beaches within very short distance, and another one slightly further. Great view of the sunset. Pool at the perfect temperature for when you walk back from the beach a touch chilly. ???? You can sometime hear cars from the back bedroom as the road is pretty close. However, it’s very quiet at night, and the sound of the wind and waves cover most it.

Great location, but hot

The location of the property was perfect for walking to Poipu and enjoying the beach. Loved how close it was to the pool. Our kids loved it. Very clean and well maintained. The view of the ocean and the sunsets were exactly what you dream of when going to Hawaii. It does not have any air conditioning. The week we were there the winds were not at the right direction to cool the place. It got hot around 3p and would get cool again around 2 am. Our friends had a non-AC unit in the 400s. Theirs was pleasantly cool as the winds went directly through it.

Good stay

Very close to Poipu beach which has lots of fish if you like to snorkel. Totally worth trying to don fins on a rocky beach. My husband the architect thinks the condo needs some updating, but I was fine with it. There were only the two of us, so I used the second bathroom as my own and used the second bedroom as my dressing room. I felt like a queen and that makes for a great vacation! Bring small sized paper plates as there are only four. Also there were screeching children in the pool three days and evenings in a row (for hours). This impinged our enjoyment and relaxation. The manager was surprised to hear our complaint though why I can’t imagine as the office is next to the pool. So we either 1) turned up the tv so loud it drowned them out or 2) took our exhausted bodies out to get a drink at the excellent Henneckes Beach Bar. But with the exception of the screeching children days it was great. For those who are concerned about lack of air conditioning, don’t be. I’m the queen of hot flashes and was very comfortable.

Great location and beautiful condo

The condo was wonderful and great view. Short distance from the beach and overlooking the pool. We had a wonderful time it just went to fast. I didn’t know about not having air conditioning but didn’t miss it at all with the ceiling fans it was very comfortable.

Beautiful... very close to the ocean... saw sea turtles and dolphins

The Lanai faced the ocean and we had sunsets almost every night (it was cloudy a couple of nights). The beds were comfy and had floor fans to keep you cool (no air conditioning but most don’t have it anyways). The condo is very nice… nice kitchen…There is also a nice swimming pool. Honeymooners in Poipu Beach, Kauai

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Nihi Kai Villas. It was a prime location (right near numerous beaches and restaurants) and the condo was very clean and comfortable. We had internet issues and a service person was there to help us within a couple hours. Everyone was very accommodating! We ended up arriving a little earlier than check in and the staff allowed us to access our condo early. I would definitely stay there again, no questions asked.

It was a great location and beautiful condo...

This was one of the nicest condos in Kauai that we have ever stayed at. Since it was our 6th trip to Kauai and we were bringing our whole family, we wanted a place that was both close to beaches and dining…this place fit the bill perfectly. It has beautiful views from the lanai…saw turtles and whales and watched lots of body surfers!!! The grandchildren enjoyed the pool and lovely grounds. We were so happy with our condo, we have decided to visit again soon!!!

Magnificent stay

We had a wonderful experience at our condo. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The unit had a great view, it was clean and right next to the ocean. We had snorkling and a kid friendly beach a few steps away. We also had a rare monk seal that came to visit every day and a great view to the giant sea turttles. Great time.

Great

Great location to beach and pool. Not too fancy — casual and comfortable. Great service with safe problem and broken dryer. Great service for booking a catamaran trip. Beds were very nice. If anything, I would replace the door lock, which was very sticky, and maybe the kitchen appliances — mainly the stove. We had a great time in Kauai!

Affordable Relaxation

Great location. Right across a local residential street from the ocean. A few hundred feet from great beaches. The unit was clean and well laid out. It was stocked with everything imaginable. The bathrooms were original 1970’s and in need of updating, but everything else was very nice. The view from the upstairs lanai was awesome. You can’t get this kind of location and size for anywhere near this price at a hotel.
