Choosing the right coffee took time and many tastings. I was looking for a dark roast that was unique and not available anywhere else. It had to be rich in flavor yet not bitter. I wanted the aroma to make each guest anticipate its peak flavor with hints of chocolate and berries.
Kauai Roastery in Waimea worked diligently to create Parrish Blend. We partnered with them because they share our commitment to be environmentally responsible. Kauai Roastery uses only the finest coffee beans from local and global farms that meet sustainable agricultural practices.
Hawaii is the only state that grows coffee. It’s been part of our culture since the early 1800’s. The first trees came to Hawaii from Rio de Janeiro on a British warship. Today there are coffee plantations on all the major islands totaling 6,500 acres and annual production of 6 to 7 million pounds of green beans.

Salt Pond Beach: “Drive past the old airport at Port Allen and park close to the historic salt beds. You can walk to a more secluded area of the beach and be away from the crowds.” (Cynthia)
Farmers’ Markets: “Arrive early and check out the products in advance. When they officially open the market you know what stands to purchase from.” (Joanne)
Kokee and Polihale State Parks: Start at Kokee in the morning and spend the day there hiking. In the late afternoon head down to Polihale and stay for an amazing sunset.” (Belinda)
