One of the hidden gems in Poipu, Kauai is Baby Beach, a small white sand beach protected by a reef just offshore. Pretty much a safe beach for kids and toddlers year round, Baby Beach is located in a quaint residential neighborhood near Whaler’s Cove. The water is shallow and the waves no more than a few inches high, providing a great spot for a day of play in the sun.
Perfect for…wading, splashing, tide pooling, sunbathing and sunsets.
Hazards…usually calm waters, reef and rocks exist just offshore. No lifeguard on duty.
Driving directions to Baby Beach…from Koloa town, head south on Poipu Road. Continue along on Poipu Road (HI-520) until you merge into the “Welcome to Poipu Beach” round-about. Continue around the round-about and follow the sign “Spouting Horn” (second exit) and continue along Lawai Road for approximately one quarter mile. Turn left on Puuholo Road and after a few feet veer right at the Y staying on Hoona Road. There is public beach access located between the homes as 5142 and 5152 Hoona Road. Limited Street Parking.
Nearby Parrish Kauai vacation rentals are the beachfront Hale Luana and Hale Naia as The Beach House and the Whalers Cove condos.
